- EH, PADDY – WHAT THE HELL IS A MULTI-MATCH BET BUILDER? LET US EXPLAIN RIGHT HERE!
There’s little doubt that Mexico were looking forward to extracting some revenge over the USA in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final after getting spanked 3-0 by the Yanks in the Nations League last month. Panama, had other plans however and managed to beat the States 4-5 on penalties in the semi-final. Mexico beat Panama 0-1 following that defeat to the US and are short odds to win here. We’ve gone through the stats to find a very healthy-looking four-fold Bet Builder.
Mexico v Panama
CONCACAF Gold Cup Final
SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California, 12:30am
Both Teams to Score
Yes, Panama pulled off a surprise in the semi-final against the US but their results over the competition have been good, winning three and drawing two, scoring a very healthy 11 goals over their five matches so you’d have to expect them to score against the Mexicans on Sunday night.
Mexico have been defensively sound over their five games, however they lost to Qatar…yes, Qatar are in the competition, and also conceded against Haiti. They’ve faced the USA twice over their last 10 games as well as Cameroon and conceded a total of six over those three games so, while they’ve got a reputation as solid at the back, the fact is they concede against better sides. They should score though, they’ve scored 12 over their last five games and beat Panama in the Nations League last month as well.
Mexico to Win
While Mexico should concede here they’ve only conceded more than one goal in two of their last 10 games and the Mexicans have beaten Panama in six of their last seven meetings it must be noted too. While not a home game, it is being held in California (which in fairness was once Mexico) so the vast amount of fans there will be backing Jaime Lozano’s El Tri.
There’s just more firepower in the Mexican ranks and that semi-final against the States is going to have taken a lot out of the Panamanians so we have to side with Mexico here.

Henry Martin to Score Anytime
Mexico striker Henry Martin had the season of his life in the Mexico Primera Division last season, scoring 27 goals over 42 appearances for Mexico City side América. He has two in four starts in the competition too and in such good form you’d have to fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet.
Anibal Godoy to Commit 2 or More Fouls
Both sides have had the lion’s share of possession in their fixtures thus far so something will have to give on Sunday evening in California. We’re bound to see a very interesting battle in the centre of the park between Mexico’s Jorge Sanchez and Luis Romo and Panama’s Adalberto Carrasquilla and Anibal Godoy.
It’s Godoy who’s not been a good boy over the competition so far, picking up three cards over his four games. He just plays to break up play, as anybody who watches Nashville in the MLS will know. He’s surely going to make a couple of late tackles and commit a few fouls.
