Thursday night sees plenty of Irish, Northern Irish and Welsh interest in the Europa Conference League. We’ve gone through seven of the games to find an acca stuffed with value.
Haka v Crusaders
Tehtaan Kentta, Valkeakoski, 5pm
Both Teams to Score
Icelanders Haka are 15 games into their league season so should be the fitter of the sides here. Crusaders began their season with a Charity Shield win over Larne on July 1st but have only played two other friendlies since early May.
The Northern Irish side will take confidence from the fact that Haka have conceded in nine of their last 10 home games while they have scored a healthy 10 over their last five on their competitive travels. Both Teams to Score has the value here.
Magpies v Dundalk
Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar, 5pm
Dundalk to Win
Stephen O’Donnell’s Dundalk are short-odds to win here. The League of Ireland side midseason game-wise, while the Magpies’ only game since April was a 3-0 stuffing against Preston North End last week. The heat will be a factor for Dunalk but in scoring nine goals over their last five they should have plenty here against a side who have scored just twice over their last four fixtures.
Gzira v Glentoran
MFA Centenary Stadium, Ta’Qali, 6pm
Both Teams to Score
Neither side here have begun their league campaigns as of yet. However, Glentoran have four friendlies under their belt to just the one played by the Maltese side. It’s going to be around 33C on Thursday in Malta so the away side might struggle in such conditions. There are goals in both sides however and the hosts don’t often keep a clean sheet so the best bet here is Both Teams to Score.

HB Torshavn v Derry City
Torsvollur, Streymoy, 7pm
Both Teams to Score
Both sides are deep into their league seasons so we should see a decent match up here. The hosts have won three, drawn one and lost one over their last five at home while Derry have won two, drawn two and lost one over their last five. However, the Candystripes have been terrible on the road, winning one, drawing one and losing three. Derry should be the better side here but that away form is putting us off, we should at least both teams scoring.
19:00 – KA Akureyri v Connahs Quay
Framvollur, Reykjavik, 7pm
KA Akureyri to Win
It has to be the Icelanders here, they’ve 14 games into their league season while Connah’s Quay have only played two friendlies since April. The hosts have also scored 11 over their last five at home and we think the away side are going to be too rusty here against this attack-minded side.
Shkendija v Havefordwest
Tose Proeski Arena, Skopje, 7pm
Both Teams to Score, No
Welsh side Havefordwest face a tricky away trip against North Macedonia’s Shkengija. The hosts are very short odds here and with Havefordwest County losing both of their preparatory games to Nil we can’t see them scoring here.
Linfield v Vllaznia Shkoder
Windsor Park, Belfast, 7:45pm
Linfield to Win
Linfield have beaten both The New Saints and Kilmarnock over their preseason preparations while Albania’s Vllaznia haven’t played any open friendlies and haven’t kicked a ball competitively since May. Vllaznia’s away form isn’t great too with just one win over their last five so it’s the hosts who’ll be more match-fit here and we’re backing them to win.
