France and Ukraine face off in their U21 Euros quarter-final on Sunday night, with a place in the final four up for grabs.
Ukraine were impressive in the group stages when finishing second behind Spain on goal difference after winning two and drawing one of their three matches. While Ukraine were solid in the group games, it’s hard to see anything but a France win.
They won all three of their group stage matches, scoring seven and conceding two in the process. France’s squad depth and overall quality should shine through so we’re backing them to reach the semi-finals.
Over 2.5 Goals
We’re on a France win but we also like the look of Over 2.5 Goals. France’s three group stage games averaged three goals per match, while Ukraine’s tally was just over two.
France come into the quarter-final on the back of their 4-1 win against Switzerland so they’ll be confident of netting a couple of times. Ukraine scored five times in their three group games and they have plenty of attacking talent in their squad.
If anyone’s going to score for France against Ukraine, it’s Bradley Barcola. The Lyon forward has netted twice in his three outings at the tournament and he’ll be full of confidence heading into Sunday’s showdown.
The 20-year-old netted seven goals and chipped in with eight assists in all competitions for Lyon last season and he’s one to keep an eye on.
Amine Gouiri to Have 2 or More Shots on Target
While we like Barcola to get on the scoresheet, backing his fellow forward Amine Gouiri to Have 2 or More Shots on Target makes plenty of sense.
The Rennes man has already registered eight shots – and four on target – in his three games so far during the tournament. We expect that trend to continue and it’s worth noting that Gouiri is on penalties so that’s an easy shot on target if France are awarded a spot kick.
Oleksii Kashchuk to Have 2 or More Shots
Our final Bet Builder selection is Oleksii Kashchuk to Have 2 or More Shots. The Ukraine attacking midfielder has had eight shots in his three appearances so far during the tournament so he’s good value to register a couple of efforts on goal.
If you’re feeling brave, you could back him to have a shot on target instead, however, we’re on two or more shots. Whether that’s on target or it goes out for a throw, it doesn’t matter!
