Norway opened their Group D account with a 1-2 loss to Switzerland while France beat Italy 2-1 with that game making the headlines for its lack of VAR. Italy clearly scored but none of the referees saw the ball crossing the line and there wasn’t even any goalline tech being used. UEFA have said they will implement VAR for the knockout stages following the fiasco.

Regardless, Norway have to go at France here, they’re going to need at least four points from their two remaining games if they’ve a chance of qualifying while France should get through now with two draws. They faced each other last November in a game that ended 1-1 and while Norway don’t exactly score tons of goals, France have kept just one clean sheet over their last 10, scoring eight over their last five so we should see the Both Teams to Score pick landing here.

Amine Gouiri to Score Anytime

Bayer Leverkusen’s Amine Adli is the favourite to score here but he didn’t come on until the 86th minute against the Italians so should he start might still be a bit rusty. Instead we’re looking at Rennes forward Amine Gouiri who plays in a supporting role behind the strikers. He had an outstanding season in Ligue Un, scoring 15 goals over 33 appearances and scored five in eight over the U21 qualification campaign. For a forward enjoying such a hot streak we have to back him to Score Anytime.

Over 2.5 Goals

France and Germany are joint favourites to come away with the trophy and the French certainly have the firepower up front to go far. Their defence isn’t the best though but like the senior team take the view of just outsourcing their opponents. Norway should draw some blood because of that but in scoring eight over their last five games they should have more than enough for the Norwegians.

We should mention too that four of France’s last five games have seen both teams to score landing as well and Les Blues have scored at least two goals in four of their last five too, meaning we’re likely looking at at least three goals.

France to Win by Exactly 1 Goal

We’ve made a case for a least three goals here as we’re expecting to France to score at least two while Norway should get one. However, that dodgy French defence has conceded at least two goals in three of their last six so a goalfest isn’t out of the question. Saying that though, France have oodles of firepower at their beck and call and a 1-2, 2-3 scoreline looks the most likely outcome.
