Sunday night football sees both La Liga and the Serie A wrapping up for the season. In Spain, we’ll be looking at the champions Barcelona who travel to relegation-threatened Celta Vigo. In Italy, we’ll be looking at the relegation battle where Verona and Spezia both face tough away trips to AC Milan and Roma respectively and Juventus travel to Udinese with a Europa League place on the line. We’ve found seven value picks here for a monster Bet Builder so let’s get straight into it.
Celta Vigo v Barcelona
TV: Premier Sports 1, 8pm
Both Teams to Score
Celta Vigo have a great record against the Catalans, losing just one of their last eight games against them on home soil. They’ve scored nine goals against them over their last five and with five over their last five home La Liga games we reckon they’re good for at least a goal. They’re also playing for their La Liga survival here so will have no option other than to attack. Barcelona have scored nine over their last five and 10 over their last five on their league travels, so we’re kicking off with a Both Teams to Score pick.
Robert Lewandowski to Score Anytime
Robert Lewandowski has enjoyed a rather productive first season in La Liga, scoring 23 and creating seven over his 33 league appearances. He’s also got six over his last five on the road in Spain so we’re getting some great odds here for the Pole to find the back of the net.
Gavi to Commit 2 or More Fouls
What talent this young man has and what a ball player he’s going to be. Did he sit out tracking class though or was he schooled by Paul Scholes? The lad just cannot resist getting stuck in to opposition players and tends to arrive late for tackles too. He has committed 71 fouls over the season and we’ve marked him to add to that tally against a Vigo side playing for their skins.
Both Teams to Score
Should Spezia lose at Roma, a draw will be enough for Verona here. They’ve been pretty poor of late though, winning just one of their last five Serie A fixtures. However, on their travels they’ve won one, drawn two and lost two. Milan have now gone eight games at home in the league without a loss but have conceded against Verona in six of their last seven meetings at the San Siro. Little doubt the hosts will score, they’ve netted 10 over their last four at home so a Both Teams to Score pick has the value here.
Roma v Spezia
TV: BT Sport 2, 8pm
Both Teams to Score
As above really, a draw will do for Spezia should Verona lose at Milan, should both teams draw Verona will survive on goal difference. The away side have scored eight over their last eight on the road while Roma have conceded in four of their last six at home in the league. The hosts have scored at least two in six of their last 10 at home and have scored one in nine of those 10 so, again, Both Teams to Score has the value.
Rome and Spezia
The Roma players are going to be very sluggish here after their grueling Europa League loss to Sevilla midweek. However, Roma can’t afford to be thinking about their beach towels just yet, Juventus could take their Europa League place here if they don’t win. With both sides desperate for the three points it’s hard to see this one ending level, so we’re backing either side to win.
Udinese v Juventus
TV: BT Sport Extra, 8pm
Over 2.5 Goals
Udinese have little to play for here, however, they’ve only lost three times to Juve over their last six visits to the Stadio Friuli. The hosts have scored eight over their last five at home so certainly should be scoring against a Juventus side who have kept just one clean sheet over their last five on their away jaunts. The away side are assured of European football next season but they’ll be gunning to overtake either of Roma or Atalanta into the Europa League places. Both teams will surely score here but we can see at least a third goal too.
