We’ve made it to the final week of the Scottish Premiership season, and in the 12:30 kick-off, we’re graced with title holders Celtic facing third-placed Aberdeen.
The Dons sit a mere 39 points behind the champions, and 31 behind runners-up Rangers – so there’s not too much at stake here!
However, Celtic will be looking to finish the season on a high note after coming up short against Hibernian on Wednesday in a 4-2 defeat, and will be left without the services of Daizen Maeda after he was sent for an early bath. It’s actually three without a win for the Bhoys, with a 2-2 home draw with St Mirren and 3-0 loss at Ibrox preceeding the midweek slip-up in Edinburgh.
The hosts will want to end the league campaign on a high, though, and ensure they head into next Saturday’s Scottish FA Cup final in high spirits as Ange Postecoglou’s side go for the treble.

Under 3.5 Goals
I expect Celtic to win, but there’s not much value in adding them just to get the victory here. Instead we’ll look at how many goals there could be.
In their matches this season Celtic have averaged 3.86 goals, with 109 of these being in their favour. Aberdeen, however, under the guidance of Barry Robson have been much sturdier from a defensive standpoint, with those eight clean sheets in their last 14 as detailed above. It might be a comprehensive win for the Bhoys, but it won’t look it on the score sheet.
Player to be Shown a Card – Ross McCrorie
Aberdeen midfielder Ross McCrorie is no stranger to the referee’s book. He’s got himself five yellow cards so far this term, and ended up on the receiving end of a red card too. In a game where the Dons will be backs to the wall for long spells, it’s entirely likely McCrorie ends up overextending himself or taking a man out at some stage.
Anytime Goalscorer – Kyogo Furuhashi
In his 35 appearances for Celtic this season, Kyogo has found the net on no fewer than 25 occasions. He is a pivotal part of the attack, and there’s no doubt that if there’s a goal to be got, Kyogo will be getting his name on it.

Team to Receive the Most Cards – Aberdeen
In total this season, the Dons have had 74 yellow cards and six red cards. This paired with the defensive structure that they will need to opt for in order to compete with Celtic would lead us towards backing Aberdeen in this one. The champions have only had 45 yellow cards, and three red cards, further giving us a reason to double down.
Player to Have 1 or More Shots On Target – David Turnbull
Turnbull has managed to get himself four goals so far this season, but with such a compliment of attacking talent around him this season, he’s definitely had a quieter season from a shooting perspective than previously.
He’s had 31 shots in total this season, which is a step down from the 75 in 2021/22. However, there’s value here considering his career shots on target percentage hovers around the 34% mark.
Team to Have 7 or More Shots On Target – Celtic
Celtic overall have had a whopping 280 total shots on target in the Scottish Premiership this season – that averages out to just over 7.5 shots on target per match.
In Celtic’s last two meetings with Aberdeen, they’ve had nine and ten shots on target in each game respectively. One of those fixtures saw the Bhoys take 33 shots in all! Now that’s a number worth talking about.
