Premier League Predictions: Lawro fancies Arsenal and Man Utd to win but Chelsea to lose

Lawro completed his latest hat-trick last weekend and he's eyeing a four-timer here.

Just two full weekends of Premier League action remain in the 2022/32 season and the penultimate round of fixtures kicks off with Tottenham hosting Brentford on Saturday afternoon. In the late game Arsenal can potentially hand Manchester City the Premier League title if they fail to beat Nottingham Forest.

On Sunday the TV action gets going with West Ham v Leeds at the London Stadium while City will be looking to finish the job if Arsenal haven’t done it for them already at home to Chelsea. Monday night’s televised fare sees the increasingly-doomed looking Leicester travel to Champions League chasing Newcastle.

So, it’s only fitting that we bow down and vow fealty to the Crown Prince of the Correct Score call, our resident tipster and Premier League prediction King, Mark Lawrenson. He’s coming into this weekend off another cracking performance last week too, so tremble in fear at the awesome power of Lawro’s Premier League picks…

Saturday 12.30pm: Tottenham v Brentford

TV: BT Sport

I think Tottenham might win this. They seem to be doing okay at home lately and they beat Crystal Palace the other day so I’ll go for another home win. Tottenham 2-0 Brentford.

Saturday 3pm: Bournemouth v Manchester United

Manchester United need to win this one. Bournemouth are safe, they’ve had a really good season but Man United have got three games left and they know they can’t afford any slip ups the way Liverpool are going just behind them in the table. Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester United.

Saturday 3pm: Fulham v Crystal Palace

I’m going to go for Fulham. Palace have been very good and it looks like Roy Hodgson’s going to stay, though I don’t know in what capacity. Fulham have had a really, really good season and it will be interesting to see if they can kick on next season, though I think they might lose a few of their players. Fulham 2-1 Crystal Palace.

Saturday 3pm: Liverpool v Aston Villa

I’ll go for Liverpool to win. It’s interesting that a couple of weeks ago it looked like Curtis Jones had gone backwards but he’s just had a fabulous last three or four games with assists and goals. Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa.

Saturday 3pm: Wolves v Everton

Wolves are safe now but this is a massive game for Everton. I fancy they’ll get a point. Wolves 1-1 Everton.

Saturday 5.30pm: Nottingham Forest v Arsenal

TV: Sky Sports

Arsenal can just go out and play with a little bit of freedom because the title’s gone and the worst they can do is finish second. I expect they’ll win this. Nottingham Forest 0-2 Arsenal.

Sunday 1.30pm: West Ham v Leeds

TV: Sky Sports

West Ham made it through to the Europa Conference League final and it looks like they might have a few pints! I think Leeds might win this. It would be a major result for Leeds. They should have won against Newcastle last weekend and big Sam Allardyce has made an impact. I think they’ll go and win it and it would be just like Leeds. West Ham 1-2 Leeds.

Sunday 2pm: Brighton v Southampton

This will be a big win for Brighton. I thought their display at Arsenal last week was outstanding, just the way that they played. They out-footballed Arsenal and everything about their game was very good indeed. I was very, very impressed. Brighton 3-0 Southampton.

Sunday 4pm: Manchester City v Chelsea

TV: Sky Sports

Manchester City’s performance against Real Madrid was amazing. That was what football’s all about. They way they made Madrid look ordinary… they’re in such a run of form. When you keep winning games you can play every single day, nobody seems to get tired. I think Chelsea might keep the score down, but I don’t fancy them to win. Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea.

Monday 8pm: Newcastle v Leicester

TV: Sky Sports

Leicester got beat at home last time by Liverpool and the score could have been anything. Newcastle, it’s their last home game of the season and the Geordies will be well up for it. Home win.  Newcastle 2-0 Leicester.
