Monday night’s European football finds us delving deep into the Serie A and La Liga markets where Betis host Vallecano with the hosts looking to secure European football for next season. In Italy, Sampdoria were relegated last week and face an Empoli side looking to pull further away from the drop zone.

Sampdoria v Empoli

TV: BT Sport 1, 7:45pm
Draw

Sampdoria have collected a paltry two points from their previous seven Serie A matches and they were finally put out of their misery away to Udinese last weekend. Their home form is slightly better, they’ve won one of their last five, drawing two and losing two, scoring six and conceding seven.

Empoli have won both of their most recent league games but on their travels have collected just a point from their last five, drawing one and losing four, scoring three and conceding seven. The away side have improved of late though but we can’t see them beating Samp based on their away form. With both teams averaging less than a goal per game in their respective home/away games it’s hard not to see this one ending level.

Mehdi Leris To Be Shown A Card

Sampdoria winger Mehdi Leris has had an eventful season, scoring just one goal in 29 league appearances, picking up an eye-watering 13 yellow cards. He’s picked up two over his last four, as well as scoring a goal and with his record we simply have to back him to pick up yet another booking.

Real Betis v Rayo Vallecano

TV: Premier Sports 1, 9pm
Betis to Win

Betis have too much ground to make up on the Top 4 for Champions League football next season but a Europa League place looks safe as they’re currently five points above Girona in the Conference League place. They’ve proven tough to beat on home soil, losing just four of their 16 home games this season.

Rayo have won none of their last five on the road, drawing one and losing four and failed to score in three of those games. We should see the hosts taking another step towards Europe with a victory here.

Both Teams to Score, No

As just mentioned, the away side have failed to hit the back of the net in three of their last five on their travels and the hosts have kept three clean sheets over their last five at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. We’re most likely looking at a 1-0 or 2-0 home win here so a Both Teams to Score, No bet makes sense.
