Marcelo Brozovic to be Shown a Card
We’ve got AC Milan and Inter Milan facing off in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night and that can only mean one thing – cards. We’ve put together a tidy treble for players to be shown a card for you lucky lot.
First up is Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic. The all-action midfielder, who covers plenty of ground, has been brilliant this season and most of his work has been on the defensive end.
He’s averaged around two tackles per game in the Champions League and Serie A this season, while also averaging over a foul per match.
His style of play has seen him pick up 10 yellow cards in all competitions for Inter and we’re expecting that tally to be 11 by the end of Wednesday night.
Nicolo Barella to be Shown a Card
Next up is Brozovic’s midfield partner Nicolo Barella.
We’re expecting an intense battle in the middle of the park on Wednesday as both sides look to book their place in the Champions League final – and there’s no doubt that Barella will be involved.
The Italian has done it all this season. He’s netted eight goals as well as chipping in with five assists but most importantly for our Bet Builder, he’s picked up seven yellow cards.
Barella averages 1.8 tackles per game in the Champions League and he’s also averaging a foul per outing. More of the same would be ideal.
Finally, we like the look of AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali to be Shown a Card.
The Italian is always involved and he is well aware of the importance of the game in terms of the rivalry as well as what’s on the line.
Tonali, who has two goals and eight assists this season, has been carded nine times for AC Milan. He also averages over a foul a game in the Champions League and Serie A.
The 23-year-old averages a couple of tackles per game and he’ll be kept busy against Barella and Brozovic on Wednesday night. It’s hard to see him not ending up in the referee’s book.
