Premier League Predictions: Lawro tips Man City to win and Man Utd loss

Lawro lost to Paddy's punter last time out and he's looking for revenge!

Mark Lawrenson's Premier League betting predictions

What a midweek menu we’ve got coming up in the Premier League with 10 games across three days which are all on telly if you’ve got the right subscription. Leeds and Leicester’s relegation six pointer is probably the highlight of Tuesday’s action which has three games taking place.

It’s all eyes on the title shootout between Manchester City and Arsenal on Wednesday and Thursday sees a battered and bruised Spurs taking on FA Cup finalists Manchester United.

So, with a busy midweek hurling towards us there’s no time to waste and it’s only right that we bring in our resident tipster and Premier League predicting guru, Mark Lawrenson. He suffered a rare loss at the weekend and is looking to get back to winning ways so here’s Lawro’s predictions this week.

Tuesday 7.30pm: Wolves v Crystal Palace

TV: BT Sport

Palace drew with Everton and Wolves lost to Leicester. Roy Hodgson’s still unbeaten after four matches. I’m going to go for Wolves to just win this, though, and edge towards safety. Wolves 1-0 Crystal Palace.

Tuesday 7.45pm: Aston Villa v Fulham

TV: BT Sport

I can’t remember the last time that Aston Villa got beat. It’s a long, long time and I think they’ve got to be due one. Fulham look to be back to their best after that Manchester United FA Cup fiasco. Aston Villa 1-2 Fulham.

Tuesday 8pm: Leeds v Leicester

TV: BT Sport

Leicester had a great win over Wolves and Leeds obviously didn’t at Fulham. Because it’s the way they are, they’re absolutely barking mad, I’m going to go for Leeds to win this. They really need to win this game as well. Leeds 2-1 Leicester.

Wednesday 7.30pm: Nottingham Forest v Brighton

TV: BT Sport

Nottingham Forest played well at Liverpool, caused them all sorts of problems, but they still can’t win. I’m just thinking that Brighton might have a big come down after that loss on Manchester United on Sunday and that might put the cat among the pigeons. Nottingham Forest 2-1 Brighton.

Wednesday 7.45pm: Chelsea v Brentford

TV: BT Sport

Frank Lampard’s got to win a game, surely?! I’m going to go for Chelsea to win this. Brentford took them apart at Stamford Bridge last season but not this time. Chelsea 1-0 Brentford.

Wednesday 7.45pm: West Ham v Liverpool

TV: BT Sport

Liverpool are still a little bit all over the place defensively, they’re not convincing whatsoever. West Ham have gone a bit more direct recently. I’m going to go for a draw here. West Ham 1-1 Liverpool.

Wednesday 8pm: Manchester City v Arsenal

TV: BT Sport

I’ll go for Manchester City to win this. I’m fascinated by the way Arsenal will approach this game. When you look at them and number of times they’ve been in front and looking comfortable to only go on and cause themselves all sorts of problems… City have been in this position many, many times before, normally on the last day of the season! They won’t be fazed. I’m really looking forward to seeing this game. Manchester City 2-1 Arsenal.

Thursday 7.45pm: Everton v Newcastle

TV: BT Sport

Newcastle to win this. They’ve had their blip and they put away a very poor Spurs side on Sunday. I can’t see them blowing the Champions League now. Everton didn’t look like scoring against Crystal Palace at the weekend. I know Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s back but it’s going to take him a bit of time to get up and running. Everton 1-2 Newcastle.

Thursday 7.45pm: Southampton v Bournemouth

TV: BT Sport

Southampton have suddenly started scoring goals but threw it away against Arsenal and that was a big loss for Bournemouth, 4-0 against West Ham. Let’s go for a boring draw here. Southampton 1-1 Bournemouth.

Thursday 7.45pm: Tottenham v Manchester United

TV: BT Sport

Tottenham are just as liable now to go an win this after their 6-1 battering at Newcastle. That’s how mad they are. I’m going to tip them to win as well, maybe Manchester United will be on a come down from winning the FA Cup semi final on Sunday? It sounds ridiculous but it would be just like Spurs to go and win, it really would. Tottenham 2-1 Manchester United.
