Brentford vs Aston Villa

Ollie Watkins to Score Anytime

It’s hard to back against Ollie Watkins scoring at present. The Villa striker has been in red-hot form over the last two months, scoring 11 goals in his last 12 Premier League games. Watkins has scored in each of his last six league away games and is good value to continue that excellent record against his former club.

Watkins has already scored against Brentford this season and now faces a side that appear to be on the beach, if you can forgive the cliché. Almost every Premier League club has something to play for at present, but the Bees are not one of them.

Thomas Frank’s side have no real hope of securing European football and have already amassed enough points to secure their Premier League safety, and it shows in their results. Brentford have picked up just one point in four games since the international break, giving Villa – and Watkins – a great chance of continuing their excellent form on Saturday.

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Crystal Palace to have 6 or More Shots on Target

Crystal Palace are a team transformed under Roy Hodgson. From no wins in 12 games and no shots on target in three games in-a-row to three wins on the bounce scoring nine goals in the process.

Palace have registered an impressive 19 shots on target in those three games at an average of over six shots on target per game. They will get plenty of joy against an out-of-form Everton side who are without a win in their last four games and are now in serious danger of relegation.

The Toffees have faced 31 shots on target in their last five league games and there is nothing to suggest that they won’t face a high number of efforts on goal on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester vs Wolves

Wolves to Receive the Most Cards

Wolves have taken a giant leap towards safety by winning two games on the bounce against Chelsea and Brentford, but their discipline remains absolutely woeful. Wolves boast the worst disciplinary record in the Premier League, receiving 63 yellow cards and six red cards in 31 games this season.

Julien Lopetegui’s side have amassed 91 disciplinary points this season, at least 15 points more than any other side in the Premier League this season.

Leicester, on the other hand, are in wretched form but boast one of the better disciplinary records in the division, picking up 44 yellow cards and two red cards in 31 games. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Wolves win the card count.

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest

Over 10.5 Corners

Things look very bleak for Nottingham Forest, who are without a win in their last nine games. They boast the worst away record in the Premier League and do not look likely to improve it against a much improved Liverpool side.

Liverpool have collected the majority of their points this season at Anfield and are likely to add to that tally here. They are also likely to amass a number of corners. Their average of six corners per game is among the highest in the league, while Forest’s average of six corners conceded per game is the third-highest in the division.

Forest have conceded 91 corners in 11 games against the big six and Newcastle this season at a rate of over eight per game and Saturday’s clash with Liverpool is unlikely to be any different. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if Liverpool broke the 11-corner landmark on their own.

Virgil Van Dijk to Attempt 90 or More Passes

Forest also boast the second-lowest average possession in the league this season, averaging just 39.5% in Premier League games. In games against the big six and Newcastle, they have regularly recorded possession statistics in the 20s or early 30s, only managing to buck the trend against a Tottenham side that tends to treat the ball as its enemy.

Liverpool boast the fourth-highest possession average in the league and enjoyed 76% of the ball when the sides met at the City Ground earlier in the season, so it stands to reason that they will be just as dominant on the ball when they meet at Anfield.

Virgil Van Dijk completes an average of 79 passes per game for Liverpool in the league this season, attempting an average of over 88 passes per game, the most of any Reds player. Given his side are almost guaranteed to dominate the ball on Saturday, it is reasonable to assume that Van Dijk will considerably better his average.
