Champions League quarter-finals, second leg
Inter Milan v Benfica (Agg: 2-0)
Wednesday, April 19: 8pm
TV: BT Sport 2
Benfica to Win
It is unusual for two teams to be so out of form when meeting in a second leg of a Champions League quarter final, but that is exactly what has happened between Inter Milan and Benfica. The visitors have lost their last three games in all competitions, including last week’s first leg in Lisbon – their first defeat in the Champions League this season.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, are a very strange team. The Italians have yet to concede a goal in the Champions League knockout stages but haven’t won a domestic game in almost two months, losing four of their last five games in the Serie A in a wretched run of form that has seen them drop out of the top four places.
Benfica have a mountain to climb after losing at home 2-0, but they are not out of this tie by any means and will fancy their chances of at least winning the game on Wednesday night.
Rafa Silva to have 2 or More Shots on Target
Regardless of whether Benfica win the game or not, they are surely likely to go down swinging. The Portuguese side simply have to go for it in Milan and it would be a big surprise if they didn’t pepper the Inter goal with shots.
Of all Benfica players, Rafa Silva is arguably the most likely player to land multiple shots on goal. The Portuguese forward averages three shots per game in the Champions League this season – the most of any Benfica player in the competition – and averages 2.5 shots per game in the Portuguese league.
Clearly, Silva is not shy of having a go and is good value to register two efforts on target.

Antonio Silva to attempt 70 Passes or More
Benfica enjoyed the lion’s share of possession last week and are likely to do so again in Milan . The Portuguese side average almost 53% possession in Champions League games, compared to Inter Milan’s average of 46%.
Considering Inter have a two-goal lead to protect, they are likely to sit in and refuse to offer Benfica space in behind, meaning Benfica should at least dominate the ball here. Defender Antonio Silva boasts the highest pass average of any player at the club in the Champions League this season, completing 56.4 passes per game in the competition.
When taking all misplaced passes into account, Silva attempts an average of 62 passes per game in the Champions League. He is likely to better that average on Wednesday night in a game Benfica should dominate.
Nicolo Barella to Commit 2 Fouls or More
If Benfica do build up a head of steam then it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see Inter attempt to take the sting out of the game by making fouls around the pitch. Midfielder Nicolo Barella is among the most likely Inter players to commit multiple fouls.
Barella averages more fouls per game than any other Inter player in the Champions League this season, committing an average of 1.4 fouls per game. His average of one foul per game in Serie A is also one of the highest in the Inter squad and it stands to reason that he may be forced to commit a couple of fouls here.
