On Saturday evening, we see Man City take the trip to St. Mary’s to face off against Premier League stragglers Southampton. Southampton still sitting bottom of the table after dropping points against West Ham last weekend. City desperately trying to chase down Arsenal atop the Premier League table – this has all the makings of a drubbing, even if Erling Haaland might not be involved.
Man City to Win
The easy choice here, Southampton really do seem destined to drop out of the Premier League for the first time since the 2011-2012 season. City are far too talented, far too dangerous and far too in need of three points to help them catch Arsenal.
Over 3.5 Goals
Erling Haaland may be touch and go for the weekend, but Man City aren’t short in supply of goal threats by any stretch of the imagination. In the event that Haaland is unavailable, the Southampton defence will have to contend with Argentine Ace Julian Alvarez, who has proven himself to be an absolute nightmare to defenders. With Grealish finding form, and the breadth and depth of the Man City attacking options, there could be a lot of goals in this one!

Team to Receive the Most Cards – Southampton
Southampton are going to be under constant pressure from the get go in this one, playing at an entirely different speed to that of their opponents. Frustration from a difficult season so far, and Jack Grealish’s outrageously short shinpads will both be leading causes of wayward tackles in this one.
Julian Alvarez to have 2 or More Shots On Target
If Haaland isn’t fit – Alvarez will be the go-to guy! In fact, City may look to rest the Norwegian Giant as they look towards their all-important clash on Tuesday with Bayern Munich. Alvarez has notched himself six goals on the season so far, off of just thirteen shots on target – not a bad conversion rate eh? Alvarez will have an opportunity to make a statement in this match, and we foresee him taking it with both hands!
Jack Grealish to Score or Assist
Grealish is starting to find consistent form again for the first time since his move from Villa. He’s got himself four goals and five assists in the Premier League so far this season and will look to continue on this form by making an impact against Southampton. With Phil Foden missing due to a dodgy (now removed) appendix, Grealish should be all but guaranteed a start, and in a game that should see plenty of goals, expect to see him get in on the action.
Ibrahima Diallo to Commit 2 or More Fouls
Diallo has managed to commit seventeen fouls on the season so far despite his limited minutes played. Coming up against a Man City side that will pose a constant threat from all sides, we can see the occasion getting the better of him in this one. With a number of injuries running through the squad, Southampton will likely give him the start.
