The Draw
James Ward-Prowse to Have One or More Shots on Target
Danny Ings to Have One or More Shots on Target
Lucas Paqueta to Commit Two or More Fouls
Under 5.5 West Ham Corners
Both sides could be in with a chance of creeping out of the relegation zone provided all of the fixtures go their way and if they win this one, with just four points separating Crystal Palace (12th) and Southampton (20th). These two sides have drawn three of their last six meetings and we would expect to see something similar. West Ham and Southampton are desperately in need of three points, but ultimately, they could settle for one.
James Ward-Prowse has notched himself seven goals this season. The set-piece clinician has had 13 shots on target on the season so far and he’s finding the target on 36% of all shots taken this season. He’s great value to have a shot on target.
Danny Ings is a man who hasn’t played much since arriving in London from Aston Villa but in his seven Premier League appearances for the Hammers, he’s notched himself two goals on top of the six he picked up with Villa in the first half of the season. Both Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio are looking unlikely to be available due to injury and Sunday will be a great opportunity for Ings to put himself back in contention for a starting spot.
Since arriving in London, Lucas Paqueta has managed to get himself four yellow cards in the Premier League in just 18 appearances. You read that right, he’s averaging a yellow card every four games. He’s also managed to commit 32 fouls in those 18 appearances, averaging about 1.78 fouls per game! It will be a battle of the midfields on Sunday so expect to see Paqueta in amongst it.
West Ham have had fewer than six corners in four of their last five games. Southampton have also conceded less than six corners in four out of their last five outings. With this game looking set to be a battle around the middle third, it’s hard to see how West Ham could end up going over the 5.5 corner mark, barring something unexpected.
The Draw
James Ward-Prowse to Have One or More Shots on Target
Danny Ings to Have One or More Shots on Target
Lucas Paqueta to Commit Two or More Fouls
Under 5.5 West Ham Corners
