Saturday night’s football has us seeking value in La Liga where Elche face the daunting task of taking on Xavi’s Barcelona while Rennes and Lens face off in Ligue Un. Getting us off to a start however, we’re off to the Serie A where Juventus take on relegation-threatened Verona. Let’s have a look then at where we’ve found some value in the markets.
Juventus v Verona
TV: BT Sport 1, 7:45pm
Juventus -1
Despite their 15-point penalty it’s looking like Juventus just might scrape into the Champions League places for next season. The Old Lady have won six of their last seven Serie A games while at the Juventus Stadium have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring 12 goals.
Verona have failed to score in three of their last six visits to Turin and have only scored two goals over their last five Serie A encounters. They’ve also only scored two over their last five away league games. The hosts should have more than enough to win by at least two goals.
Over 2.5 Goals
The hosts have scored at least three goals in six of their last 10 on home soil in the league and actually scored four in both of their most recent home games. Verona are going to be in for a long night here, the hosts have been in good form of late and we can certainly see a scoreline of Juve winning 3-0 or above.
Rennes v Lens
TV: BT Sport 2, 8pm
Draw
Both sides are in decent shape coming into this Ligue Un clash. The hosts have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five league games while at home have won three and lost two. Lens have won three and drawn two of their last five in the league, while on the road have won one, drawn three and lost one.
Rennes will be relying on home advantage here but the visitors are a very tough side to beat and are rarely done so on their travels. There’s very little between the sides here so the value is in backing a Draw.

Elche v Barcelona
TV: Premier Sports 1, 8pm

You’d have to feel a bit sorry for poor Elche here, the league’s bottom side taking on a Barca side who are 12 points ahead of Real Madrid at the pinnacle of the La Liga table.
Barcelona have won eight of their last 10 La Liga games without conceding a goal, winning four of their last six on their travels to nil as well. In four of their last five meetings here, the hosts have failed to score a goal as well, so with those stats Both Teams to Score, No has some mighty value.
Barcelona -1
The hosts have conceded seven over their last five home league games and last five home/away games too. Barca haven’t been scoring a ton on the road of late, five over their last five, but have netted 14 over their last five away games against Elche in all competitions and with the host being in such bad form, the visitors should be winning here by at least two clear goals.
