Ireland welcome France on Monday night in Stephen Kenny’s biggest test. France pushed Argentina all the way in the World Cup final in Qatar last year, with Kylian Mbappe netting a hat-trick.
They then followed that up by hammering the Netherlands 4-0 last Friday, with Mbappe getting a brace. The PSG man now has seven goals in his last five games for his country.

France have won on their last two trips to Dublin and they’ve scored two or more goals in their last five games.
All signs point to a France win, however, Ireland can get on the scoresheet.
France have conceded in six of their last eight games and Ireland have scored in their last seven games, including them netting three against Latvia last week.
France to Win 3-1 seems a smart selection for Monday night’s showdown.

Mbappe is France’s main man and he’s netted 43 goals for club and country this season. He has eight goals and 22 shots on target in his last seven matches in all competitions. He averages just over four shots per game so he’s almost a guarantee to have an effort on target.
Evan Ferguson’s form at Brighton saw him start – and score – in Ireland’s 3-2 win over Latvia last Thursday night. His development will attract huge interest as we’ve been shy a top, regular, Premier League goalscorer since Robbie Keane retired. If Ireland are to score against France, Ferguson could be the one to do it given his form with the Seagulls.
