Thursday night has a whole ton of international football lined up for us. We’ll be looking at Northern Ireland travelling to San Marino while also in Group H, we have a Scandinavian derby between Denmark and Finland.

In Group J , Portugal face minnows Liechtenstein while Bosnia entertain Iceland and finally, in England’s Group C, we’ll be looking at North Macedonia taking on Malta. Let’s find some value picks for a seven-leg Bet Builder.

San Marino v Northern Ireland

TV: Premier Sports 1, 7:45pm

Northern Ireland – 2

Michael O’Neill’s return as Northern Ireland manager begins with what should be an easy away trip to Italy’s Apennines Mountains when they face the third-worst ranked team in the UEFA coefficients.

O’Neill has brought in a few fresh faces and they’ll be eager to impress and lay a claim for a start against Finland at home on Sunday. San Marino have only scored one goal over their last 16 games on home soil and we can easily see the Ulstermen winning by three clear goals here.

Denmark v Finland

TV: Premier Sports 2, 7:45pm

BTTS: Yes

The market very much favours the Danes here, rightfully so too. They’ve beaten France, twice, Austria, twice and Serbia over the last 12 months but failed to win any of their Group games at the World Cup. Indeed, they’ve only won one of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing three. They have been enjoying strong home form however, with three wins, one draw and one loss.

Finland beat Denmark in Copenhagen two years ago and have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five fixtures. On their travels they share the same results, scoring six while conceding seven. Without Christian Eriksen calling the shots in midfield for the Danes, Finland have a great opportunity here to get some valuable points on the board in a tough group. With both teams eager to get off to the best start there’s plenty of value in a Both Teams to Score pick here.

Bosnia v Iceland

Bosnia to Win

Bosnia look to be in decent shape as they welcome the Icelanders to Zenica, the hosts have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five while their opponents have won none of their last six in normal time. They did manage to beat both Lithuania and Latvia on penalties over those six fixtures, of their other four games they lost three and drew one.

The home side will be looking to make it a fifth home win in-a-row here and with the talent in their squad they should easily dismiss Iceland on Thursday night.

North Macedonia v Malta

Under 2.5 Goals

North Macedonia have scored just two goals over their last five matches and have scored six over their last five at home. We have to mention however that four of them were against Gibraltar so they don’t really count. Malta have scored six over their last five and five over their last five on the road, two of which were against San Marino. Not even the hipster-y-ist of football hipsters will be looking forward to this grind, there won’t be many goals here.

Portugal v Liechtenstein

Bruno Fernandes to Score Anytime

Portugal’s Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has scored a very healthy six goals over his last eight appearances for the Selecao, interestingly he scored a brace in three of those eight and history could certainly repeat again here. As this will be Roberto Martinez’ first game in charge of Portugal we don’t expect him to put Fernandes back into midfield but should stay forward as part of the three-pronged attack of himself, Joao Felix and either Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos or AC Milan’s Rafael Leao. Fernandes should at least get one against such pitiful opposition.
