Man United v Fulham, Saturday, 4:30pm

TV: ITV

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United welcome Marco Silva’s Fulham to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon for their FA Cup quarter-final match. The market very much fancies the home side here so we’ve gone deep into the stats to find four picks for a value-heavy Bet Builder. Let’s get to it.

Both Teams to Score

Man United have had a few handy matches to get their 7-0 Anfield mauling out of their system, they’ve beaten Real Betis 5-1 on aggregate in the Europa League but were held scoreless in a dour 0-0 home draw with Southampton in the Premier League. United’s home form is simply outstanding however, they’ve not lost at headquarters since a Europa League Group Stage game against Real Sociedad back in September, winning 19 of their 22 games at Old Trafford since.

They have, however, conceded in five of their last eight on home soil and the Cottagers have scored a total of sixteen over their last 10 on their travels and have scored in all five of their most recent visits to United. Both Teams to Score has a lovely price here for two teams who are among the goals of late.

Fulham to Receive the Most Cards

United, in the Premier League, have the fourth-worst disciplinary record with 58 yellow cards and two reds but Fulham are worse with a whopping 64 yellows and one red. United have picked up 10 bookings over their last five fixtures played on home soil while the visiting side have collected a total of 17 on their recent travels. Seeing them priced well above Evens to receive more bookings here, we’re getting plenty of value.

Wout Weghorst of Manchester United

Scott McTominay to be Shown a Card

While we feel that the names of the Fulham players will be taken more often than their United counterparts, we have to talk about Scott McTominay here. This lad just refuses to learn how to tackle. The Scotland international will, of course, come in for the suspended Casemiro here to partner Fred in midfield.

Domestically, he picks up a card every three times he plays for United, eight cards in 24 domestic games this season, and in facing a Fulham midfield that aren’t afraid of getting forward we see him bringing a few to ground over the 90 minutes. It’s worth mentioning too that the Fulham players will be aware of this and as such, will be targeting him in the hope he gets dismissed.

Man United to Win

While the majority of neutrals watching this will be going for Fulham, then again, there aren’t many neutrals when it comes to Man United, it’s tough to make an argument against their incredible run at Old Trafford.

They were comfortable against Barcelona at home and Leicester previous to that, while West Ham and Betis were even more easily dealt with. Fulham will be a test, no doubt about that, particularly in front of goal but United have the guile and superior firepower up front to extend their winning form on home soil. They’ve won eight of their last 10 at home, Fulham have won just two of their last five on their travels so we have to back the Red Devils to win here.
