FA Cup Predictions
Manchester City 3-0 Burnley Sheffield United 1-0 Blackburn Brighton 2-0 Grimsby Manchester United 2-0 Fulham
It’s an absolutely packed weekend of football this weekend to keep us all going after the week at Cheltenham. We’ve got a slate of Premier League fixtures, as well as the FA Cup quarter-finals!
It’s the cup action we’re going to be concentrating on though, with Manchester United looking to keep their search for a second trophy this year going, as they take on Fulham in an all-Premier League clash.
There is some Irish interest this weekend too. Josh Cullen will be rubbing shoulders with Kevin De Bruyne and co. as Burnley face Manchester City. While the lads at Sheffield United will be hoping to continue their fine form in the competition against fellow-Championship club Blackburn.
Burnley are on the brink of promotion and I’m not sure whether Vincent Kompany will pick his strongest team in all honesty, and I don’t suppose Manchester City will either. As good as Burnley have been in The Championship this is completely different gravy now and it’ll give them a taste of what’s to come next season.
These two both had good wins during the week and it was an important one for Sheffield United at Sunderland because they really needed that. With Sheffield United at home, in front of a full house, I think they’ll just nick it. Jon Dahl Tomasson’s done a great job at Blackburn but they do have some strange results, they get battered occasionally and then they go on a good run, but I think this will be tight.
LAWRO’S SCORE PICK: Sheffield United 1-0 Blackburn.
It’s a great story for Grimsby and obviously it’s worth a lot of money to them and that’s great. The Harry Haddocks will be out in force and they’ll have a great time. I would think Brighton will make a few changes but they’re two games away from an FA Cup final.
Arsenal took Fulham apart, that’s probably the worst they’ve played all season but it was against a good side. Manchester United are getting better and better, they’ve already got a trophy and home advantage as well which will probably see them through.
LAWRO’S SCORE PICK: Manchester United 2-0 Fulham.
