Valencia vs Osasuna

Saturday, 20:00
TV: Viaplay Sports 1

Under 2.5 Goals

With one win in five games, Valencia find themselves well and truly in a relegation battle in La Liga and currently find themselves two points off safety.

However, it is surprising to see a team in such a perilous position boast such a good goal difference.

Valencia’s current goal difference is only -1, which more closely resembles a mid-table team than a team threatened with relegation.

The one-time Spanish giants do not lose their games by a lot of goals and boast by far the best defensive record in the bottom half, conceding just 28 goals in 24 games.

Meanwhile, seven of Valencia’s 10 league games since the World Cup have seen two goals or fewer, making it unlikely that Saturday night’s clash against Osasuna will be a high-scoring thriller.

Although Osasuna sit in eighth, they have scored fewer goals than Valencia this season, scoring 22 goals and conceding 23 in 24 league outings.

They boast the worst attacking record in the top ten and the fifth-worst in the league overall, with nine of their ten league games since the World Cup seeing two goals or fewer.

It is highly unlikely that they will buck that trend against an equally pragmatic Valencia outfit on Saturday night.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio, February 2023

Bologna vs Lazio

Saturday 20:00
TV: BT Sport 1

Both Teams to Score: No

Lazio suffered a disappointing defeat in the first leg of their Europa Conference League tie against AZ Alkmaar in Rome on Tuesday night.

However, they have shown good form in the league of late, winning three games on the bounce without conceding a goal.

That winning run also includes an away win at runaway league leaders Napoli, who have dropped just ten points all season.

Lazio boast the second-best defensive record in Italy after Napoli, conceding just 19 goals in 25 games.

Bologna, meanwhile, have failed to score in two of their last four games and boast the worst goalscoring record of the top eight.

Lazio will be confident of keeping another clean sheet on Saturday.

Mattia Zaccagni to Score Anytime

With Ciro Immobile out injured, Lazio will rely on their other forward players to find the back of the net on Saturday evening.

Of those players, Mattia Zaccagni offers the best value at 11/4.

He is Lazio’s second-highest scorer in Serie A after Immobile, scoring eight goals in 22 appearances, although he has not scored in any of his last five league appearances.

At almost 3/1, he represents excellent value to break his scoring duck on Saturday night.

Leo Messi, PSG, March 2023

Brest vs PSG

Saturday 20:00
TV: BT Sports 3

Both Teams to Score: Yes

PSG made yet another limp exit from the Champions League mid-week and are now faced with three months of a Ligue 1 title procession and nothing else.

It’s difficult to see them being able to shake Wednesday’s abject defeat to Bayern Munich anytime soon and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them struggle at lowly Brest on Saturday night.

PSG’s defensive record has been horrendous since returning from the World Cup.

The French champions have kept just three clean sheets in 16 games in all competitions since the World Cup break, managing just two in 11 league games.

They have conceded 16 goals in 11 games after conceding just nine goals in their first 14 games of the season before the World Cup started.

There is a good chance that they will concede again on Saturday night, especially if they are suffering a hangover from Wednesday night’s Champions League exit.

Lionel Messi to Score Anytime

Lionel Messi failed to really trouble the Bayern Munich defence on Wednesday, but he has been performing consistently in the league since the World Cup.

Messi has scored in each of his last five Ligue 1 appearances and has scored seven goals in nine league appearances since the World Cup.

He will score his 800th career goal if he finds the back of the net on Saturday night and is decent value to do so at even money.
