22- ACCA CRACKER - NEW CAP 1024

7.45pm: Rennes v Marseille – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

We kick off our Sunday night acca with a belter from Ligue 1 as 2nd placed Marseille head to Rennes who are 5th. This is a real toss up in terms of the result as the division’s best home side tackle the best away side at Roazhon Park.

Rennes have failed to win on just two occasions at home this term and have 33 points from their 13 games while OM have a monster 29 points from their 12 away days. While the result may be up for grabs, based on that home/away form, one thing we might be able to rely on is goals.

Marseille have seen a combined 16 goals over their last six Ligue 1 matches (2.67 per game) while it’s a total of 17 over the same timeframe for Rennes (2.83 per game). Both of these score loads, with Marseille bagging 48 in their 25 games this term and Rennes just three behind. In a tricky match to call the outcome of, Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals looks your best bet.

7.45pm: Roma v Juventus – Juventus to Win

TV: BT Sport 1

We’ve another humdinger over in Italy as Jose Mourinho’s Roma host Juventus. The Old Lady are going all out in their quest to make up lost ground in the race for the top four.

Roma are 5th, one point behind Lazio in 4th, while Juve are down in 7th, nine points behind their opponents on Sunday, though they have had a 15-point deduction and they would be second in the league without it.

But have it they do, and they need to make up 10 points on those above them in the remaining 10 games starting on Sunday night. Roma’s overall form has been patchy (two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five) and their loss at Cremonese on Tuesday was an absolute shocker.

However, they’ve been lethal at home of late and are on a run of four straight wins at Stadio Olimpico. Juve have also been excellent ever since Max Allegri declared they were in a relegation battle following that points deduction and they’ve won 12 of their last 15 Serie A games.

Roma’s home form is good, as mentioned previously, but they’ve faced the league’s 18th, 13th, 12th and 8th placed teams over that run. The away side are on fire at the moment and the only games they’ve not won on the road since the start of October were at Napoli and Milan so, at a bit of a price, I’ll chance my arm with Juventus to Win.

8pm: Real Betis v Real Madrid – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Viaplay Sports 1 and LaLigaTV

It’s a Real rumble up next with Madrid heading to Betis. The club from the Spanish capital are still trying to chase down Barcelona and sit second, seven points off top. Betis are 5th, two points behind Atletico in 4th.

These two are in pretty mean form in the league which has been punctuated by a string of cup and European competitions. We’ll focus purely on La Liga here where Betis have won five and lost three of their last eight while Carlo Ancelotti’s crew have won four, drawn two and lost the other two.

Again, the key factor in this game could well be goals as the home side’s games have been full of them recently in La Liga. They’ve had 23 goals in their last five matches – 23! That’s a stonking average of 4.6 per match.

Real Madrid have witnessed a far-more prudent 11 over the same time (2.2 per game) but you have to think they’ll have a field day against Betis’ leaky backline who have conceded 11 alone in their last five. Over 2.5 Goals is the one here.

8.30pm: Braga v Rio Ave – Braga & Under 3.5 Goals

We’ll finish in Portugal and the delightful surroundings of Braga’s Municipal Stadium in the north of the country. Rio Ave are the visitors late on Sunday and they’ll be travelling in hope rather than expectation.

Braga are 3rd in The Primeira Liga, two points adrift of Porto and the fabled final Champions League spot with 12 games left to play. They lost to Vitoria last time and will be desperate to bounce back against Portugal’s 9th-best side.

They had been in sublime form, winning 10 of their last 12 league games, before that defeat last weekend. Rio Ave have won just two of their last nine, though both of those have come in their last three outings against the 15th and 13th placed sides at home.

Braga are solid-enough at home, they’re actually better on the road, while Rio Ave have the 5th worst points hail when they hop on the bus. There’s not normally too many goal when these two take to the field and the away side are averaging around a goal scored and conceded a game (21 scored, 25 conceded in 22 games).

Braga have conceded 22 from their 22 games with 12 of those coming in three games against Porto and Sporting so they’re pretty tight at the back against the lesser teams. They’re often free scoring but just one of the visitors’ last 13 games have seen Over 2.5 Goals so, as they like to keep things tight, Braga to Win and Under 3.5 Goals is a very game price and gives us lots of room for manoeuvre.
