Friday 8pm: Hull v West Brom TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football
The Draw
Friday night’s Championship game sees Liam Rosenior’s Hull City hosting Carlos Corberan’s West Brom at the MKM Stadium. Neither side are exactly setting the world alight but the hosts have been tough to beat on home soil. The Baggies are winless over their last four on their travels and will be looking to build on their 2-0 home win over high-flying Middlesbrough last weekend.
The Tigers have won just one of their last five fixtures, drawing two and losing two but their home Championship form has seen them going six undefeated with two wins and four draws.
The Baggies have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five in the league while on their travels have won two and lost three in all competitions. You’d expect it to be advantage Hull on those results but the hosts don’t score too many at home and fail to kill off opponents, scoring just six goals over their last five on home soil. West Brom have also scored six over their last five away games so we can see both teams cancelling each other out here and The Draw price represents some very decent value.
Oscar Estupinan to Score Anytime
Colombian international Oscar Estupinan has been the highlight of Hull’s somewhat lacklustre season so far, scoring 12 goals over his 31 Championship appearances. He’s bagged two over Hull’s last five at home and being the target man for the wingers he’s going to, again, be their main goal-scoring threat. With West Brom conceding 12 over their last five away fixtures we reckon Estupinan could Score Anytime here.
The Baggies have received the lowest number of yellow cards so far this Championship season with 51 while the hosts are a bit higher up the table of offenders with 61 yellow cards to their name. However, this is a home game for Hull so we know the referee is likely to be a wee bit more lenient towards the home side.
They’ve picked up six yellow cards over their last five home league games while West Brom have collected 10 over their last five away fixtures. Hull will sit back here and counter meaning the visitors are going to have to bring the odd man to ground so West Brom to receive up the most cards looks value.
Both Teams To Score
We’ve made the case for the Draw above and it’s worth mentioning again that Hull’s defence is pretty solid at home. We don’t see them keeping a clean sheet however, West Brom have scored eight goals over their last five away league games so Both Teams to Score is a nice play to finish on.
