FA Cup fifth-round: Fulham v Leeds
Tuesday, February 28
TV: BBC 1 (7.45pm)

Fulham to Win

Fulham are enjoying a phenomenal season. Not only have they put an end to their endless yo-yoing between the Championship and the Premier League, but they have also given them a chance of finishing in the European places at the end of the season. They are just six points off fourth-placed Tottenham and should be targeting a run in the FA Cup.

Leeds, on the other hand, could probably do without the distraction of a run in the competition. New manager Javi Gracia oversaw a hugely important 1-0 win over Southampton in his first game in charge on Saturday, helping Leeds leapfrog Everton and move out of the drop  zone.

However, they remain firmly in a relegation battle, having won just once in their last 10 league games. They are also without a win in their last six away games against Premier League opposition. It’s hard to see them causing an upset at Craven Cottage, despite their new managerial appointment.

Both Teams to Score: No

Fulham’s defensive record is the second-worst in the top ten, but it has much improved since returning from the World Cup. Marco Silva’s side have kept five clean sheets in their 10 league games since and they have not conceded more than a goal in a league game since the break.

Leeds, meanwhile, have failed to score in four of their last six league games and have struggled to score goals since Qatar, only managing seven goals in 10 league games. Fulham will be confident of keeping yet another clean sheet here.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Fulham, 1-23

Manor Solomon to Score Anytime

Manor Solomon has discovered his goal scoring touch at just the right time. The Israeli forward has netted in each of his last three games, earning Fulham a draw against Wolves and a 0-1 win at Brighton. His goals have proven all the more important due to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s struggles in front of goal since the turn of the year.

Mitrovic scored 11 goals in his first 15 league appearances of the season but has not scored since a win over Leicester at the beginning of January, while he has missed a number of recent games through injury. Solomon’s goal scoring form has therefore been crucial to Fulham’s continued success and it wouldn’t be surprising if he finds the back of the net again.

Wilfried Gnonto to Have 1 or More Shots on Target

Wilfried Gnonto has been electric in recent weeks, scoring a brilliant goal in Leeds’s 2-2 draw at Old Trafford earlier in February.  The 19-year-old has four goals in his last 10 appearances in all competitions, including two goals in two games in the FA Cup.

He is arguably the most likely Leeds player to get on the scoresheet and is excellent value to register at least one shot on target. Gnonto averages 1.3 shots per game in the Premier League and there is a good chance he will land at least one effort on goal against a side that concedes an average of 13 shots per game in the top flight.
