Man United to Lift the Cup
Manchester United have rightly shortened after the red card Nick Pope received in Newcastle’s Premier League game at home to Liverpool last weekend. The prices were very close in this game, but I do think that tips the balance into United’s favour.
Newcastle have had a brilliant season to date, but their defensive stats are the reason they are competing for Champions League spots.
Pope went 10 games without conceding earlier in the season, and without him or Martin Dubravka, they are very weakened at the back for a potentially 120 minutes and penalties if it gets there.
United will come bouncing into this game after the impressive comeback win against Barcelona to continue their nine-game unbeaten streak to win the first trophy of the season.
Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime
Rashford is now up to 16 goals since the World Cup, which is far more than any other Premier League player, and he has scored in each of the five games previous to the Barcelona outing.
He’s the man of the moment for United and is arguably the most in form forward in world football right now, so has to be included in this Bet Builder.

Joelinton to Score or to be Carded
Joelinton has been a huge reason Newcastle are competing for Champions League this season. He’s netted four times in all competitions and has been rock solid both in midfield and on the left wing when Eddie Howe has asked him to play there.
He has also picked up nine yellows this season, which is two more than Newcastle’s next highest. He likes to get stuck in, so for me there looks a good case to pick him in this market, as he’s likely a player who will be heavily involved in the final in some form.
Kieran Trippier to Commit Two or More Fouls
Kieran Trippier is the player with the next highest amount of yellows, picking up seven for the season to date. He also commits plenty of fouls, averaging more than one per game, and of course he will be up against the ever-dangerous Rashford on the left wing.
Finals generally see a lot more fouls than league games, with players taking a more cautious approach and making sure they stop their opposite number getting past them at all costs.
Rashford will fancy his pace against Trippier and will look to take him on down the line a few times, so I predict Trippier will take that cautious measure and pull him down more than once.
