22- ACCA CRACKER - NEW CAP 1024

Sunday evenings are always bristling with European football action and this edition is no different. We’ll kick off in Serie A with 4th-placed Roma hosting Verona who sit in the final relegation spot in 18th.

7.45pm: Roma v Verona – Rome to Win & Under 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 1

Jose Mourinho’s men are on a good run and have only lost one of their last nine Serie A games and that was a 2-1 loss away at runaway leaders Napoli. Verona have picked up of late, though they couldn’t really get much worse, and have now won three, drawn three and lost one of their last seven after losing 10 in a row before that.

Those wins have all come on home soil though (and against teams ranked 13th, 16th and 20th) and you might not be surprised to hear they’ve got the worst away record in the division with a measly four points from 10 outings. Despite their overall upturn in fortunes they’re still pants on the road so we can side with Roma.

Roma have won their last three at home to nil with two or fewer goals in each. Yes, this truly is Joseball. But, like it or not, we can capitalise on it and we’ll kick off with the very healthy price on Roma to Win and Under 2.5 Goals as Verona are pretty good at the back, they’ve never conceded more than two in their last 10, and the Romans grind it out, failing to score more than two in any single game over the same timeframe.

7.45pm: Toulouse v Marseille – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 2

It’s France’s Ligue 1 on our radar next for Toulouse v Marseille in an 11th vs 2nd clash. After a decent start, and then a tricky spell in October, Marseille have been on fire of late, winning 11 of their last 13 in all competitions.

Toulouse are also tearing it up and les garçons from Occitanie have won eight of their last 10 in all competitions with only Paris St-Germain able to beat them at Parc des Princes. They’re scoring bucket loads, too.

They’ve scored 10 goals in their last three home games and both sides have netted in each of their last five. With these two in such good form I think it’s best to side with goals and avoid trying to pick a result.

Marseille, for their part, have generally been involved in games with less goal-mouth action than their opponents but they’ve netted in each of their last 15 games. At around even money, Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Goals looks the best bet here by a country mile.

8pm: Barcelona v Cadiz – Barcelona to Win to Nil

TV: Viaplay Sports 1, LaLigaTV

La Liga’s pace-setters Barcelona will be licking their lips as 16th-placed Cadiz prepare to be the latest sacrificial lamb to enter Camp Nou on Sunday evening. The Catalan giants are in sensational form on the domestic front and they’ve only dropped points in La Liga on three occasions this term.

After a poor start Cadiz have rallied and they’ve won three of their last six, albeit not against anyone near the quality of their hosts this weekend. Barcelona thumped them 4-0 at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla back in September and, while you might expect something similar here, the goals have dried up a little for Barca of late.

They’ve actually failed to score more than one goal on six occasions in their last 10 league games but, while the final outcome might not be as emphatic as their first meeting, we can certainly expect them to take the spoils. As they’re overwhelming favourites in Paddy’s betting the best bet here could be Barcelona to Win to Nil. Xavi’s chaps have only conceded seven goals all season and Cadiz are averaging 0.8 goals a game so it would be a big surprise if the visitors were to get on the scoresheet.

8.30pm: Casa Pia v Vitoria Guimaraes – BTTS? No

We’ll round off our acca in Portugal where Casa Pia face Vitoria Guimaraes. Vitoria are going along nicely in 5th but the newly-promoted Casa Pia are having a storming season and they’re just one place and two points behind their late-night visitors.

However, Casa are in poor form now with just one win in their last six and they really don’t score very many goals with just 18 across their 20 games so far. Reality might be starting to hit home for the Lisbon club.

Vitoria have come out of a sticky patch following the World Cup which saw them go four games without a win to take the three points in their three most recent matches. When these two met earlier in the season Casa pinched a 1-0 win and this will surely be low scoring again.

In their last six games Casa have scored three goals and it’s five for Vitoria. The away side might turn the tables here but with the Over/Under markets not offering much appeal we’ll take a chance on Both Teams To Score? No.
