Friday night’s football Acca finds us looking for value in Ligue Un where one of the form sides, Nice, entertain relegation-threatened Ajaccio. In the Championship, Birmingham host a West Brom side in good league form while a little earlier AC Milan, who haven’t won any of their last seven games, welcome Torino to San Siro. Kicking us off though, we have bottom side Schalke taking on Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

Schalke v Wolfsburg – Wolfsburg to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Mix (7:30pm)

Wolfsburg had been going so well; scoring 11 goals over their first two post-World Cup games but have since lost their three games, conceding eight while scoring four. They’ll have been licking their wounds following their 2-4 loss to Bayern at home last weekend but the Wolves should be back at it against the Bundesliga’s bottom side Schalke here.

The hosts have won none of their last five in the league, losing three and drawing two while at home have won one, drawn one and lost three, scoring just two goals and conceding 10. Wolfsburg have scored 13 over their last five on the road, winning three, drawing one and losing one and they should put a few past a team that looked doomed to relegation.

AC Milan v Torino – Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals

Milan are on a dreadful run of form, winning none of their last seven fixtures in all competitions and they’ve already lost to Torino on home soil this season in the Coppa Italia. Their Serie A form has seen them drawing two and losing three, while at home in the league have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring 12 and conceding 10.

Torino have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five in all competitions while in league action share the same results. On their Serie A travels, Il Toro have won one, drawn three and lost one, scoring six and conceding six. With both teams in the goals we have to go with the value here in backing both to score and at least three goals.

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan is being heavily-linked to the Leeds United job but will he want to leave a Baggies role where he could take them up for a side struggling in the Premier League? While obviously a derby it doesn’t have the same bite as others in the area, this could still have a bit of bite, and the hosts need to stop a slide down the Championship table. The hosts have scored six over their last five at home with the away side scoring eight. While West Brom should nap the points here, the better value is in backing goals especially as they’re both scoring plenty of late.

Nice are unbeaten over their last five Ligue Un fixtures, winning four and drawing one while at the Allianz Riviera have won three and drawn two, scoring nine while conceding just two. Ajaccio have won just one of their last five in the league, losing the other four while on their excursions have won one, drawn one and lost three, scoring five and conceding 13. We have to go with the form side here and take the hosts to bag the three points.
