We have a whole feast of football to sink our value gnashers into on Wednesday night. We have league action in Spain, France and Scotland and cup action in Italy and Germany. Loads to get into here so let’s get straight into Mainz v Bayern in the DFB Pokal.
Mainz v Bayern Munich
TV: Premier Sports 2, (7:45pm)
Both Teams to Score
Glass half-empty take: Bayern haven’t won a single game since the return of German football following the World Cup. Glass half-full take: Bayern are undefeated since the return of German football. Yes, they’ve drawn all three of their matches. Mainz have won one, drawn one and lost one over the same period.
The hosts have beaten Bayern in both of their most recent visits to East Germany and are in good goal-scoring form at home, netting 14 over their last seven home matches. Bayern have scored in nine of their last 10 on their travels so both should be scoring here.
Over 2.5 Goals
With both likely to be scoring here we have to mention that Bayern have scored at least two goals in eight of their last 10 away games so we reckon we’ll see at least three goals here.
Celtic v Livingston
Streaming: StreamDigital (7.45pm)
Celtic -2 (Alt Handicap 2)
Celtic have now gone 13 games unbeaten in all competitions and have won three of their last five at home by at least three goals. Livingston have conceded a total of 15 goals over their last six visits to Celtic Park and with the hosts keeping four clean sheets over their last five on home soil we can see the hosts running riot here on Wednesday night.
Kyogo Furuhashi to Score Anytime
Kyogo Furuhashi have netted six goals for the Bhoys over their last five fixtures at home, the Japanese star has two over his three previous appearances and in such flying form we have to back him to add to his league tally of 17 Premiership goals here.
Hearts v Rangers
Streaming: Hearts PPV (7.45pm)
Over 2.5 Goals
Hearts are in pretty good form of late, they’ve now gone nine games unbeaten in all competitions while at Tynecastle have won six and drawn one of their last seven, scoring 13 over their five most recently played home fixtures.
Rangers have won eight and drawn two over their last 10 in the Premiership and on their recent excursions have won four and drawn one, scoring 10 goals. With both in great goal-scoring form, Over 2.5 Goals has the value here.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Montpellier v PSG
TV: BT Sport 1 (8pm)
Kylian Mbappe to Score Anytime
PSG superstar Kylain Mbappe has a fantastic record when up against Montpellier. He has faced them 12 times, winning 11 games and drawing one and, more importantly for us here, has scored 12 goals over those 12 games. He also has eight goals over his last five matches for PSG and in such mighty form we have to back him to get on the scoresheet against a side who have conceded 11 goals over their last five fixtures.
Roma v Cremonese
Streaming: Viaplay (8pm)
Both Teams to Score, No
Roma put up a good fight in their 2-1 loss to Napoli last Sunday night in what will surely be seen as one of the games of the season in the Serie A. They’ve in strong form, winning three of their last five, drawing one and losing one while at the Stadio Olimpico have won three, drawn one and lost one, keeping three clean sheets in the process. Cremonese have scored in just three of their last five on their travels and with that home record of clean sheets for Jose Mourinho’s side we don’t see them scoring here.
Roma to Win
To squeeze some extra value out of the game here we’d have to back Roma to Win as well, the away side have won none of their last 10 away games in normal time, winning one on penalties however but Roma’s record of four wins over their last six and all three of their home games since Italian football returned means we have to back them to advance to the next round of the Coppa here.
Betis v Barcelona
TV: La Liga TV (8pm)
Over 2.5 Goals
Betis’ La Liga record has seen them winning two, drawing one and losing two while at home they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one with Over 2.5 goals being witnessed in three of those five.
Barca have won four and drawn one over their last five in league action, winning four and losing one on their recent La Liga travels. They’ve scored 12 over their last five away games in all competitions with Overs also being seen in three of those five. This game is Barca’s chance to put some meaningful distance between themselves and Real in second and they’ll be eager to get a few on the board here so we’re backing goals.
