Derby v West Ham, Monday, 7:45pm
TV: ITV 4

League One’s Derby County face Premier League side West Ham United on Monday night in the FA Cup. The Rams will butt heads with a side who have won just two of their last five away fixtures while they now gone unbeaten over 14 and have won all five of their most recent fixtures at Pride Park. We might well see an upset here. Let’s get into the stats then and find the four best picks for a value-laden Bet Builder.

Over 2.5 Goals

Derby have certainly been among the goals of late, scoring a very healthy 14 over their last five in all competitions where all five saw Over 2.5 goals occurring. On home soil they’ve also scored 14 with Overs being seen in four of their last five, winning all five of those games.

West Ham have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five, scoring just five goals but on their travels have done better in front of goal, scoring seven while conceding six, winning two, drawing one and losing two. We should be in the goals here and the price for Over represents some decent value with two teams who have some healthy goal stats.

Over 10.5 Corners

Derby have been averaging 6.33 corners over their League One campaign this season while West Ham have been averaging 6.20 on their Premier League travels. Of course, we need to be aware that West Ham are very much involved in a relegation battle but David Moyes cannot really afford to blood many fringe players here as it would be far more beneficial to get his best XI winning games again. They were comfortable winners against Everton in their most recent match and will want to capitalise on that.

Derby have little to fear here, they’re doing well in League One and are just eight points behind second-placed Sheffield Wednesday and with their good form will be confident of getting something here. With both having high averages of corners, and a point to prove, the price here is too good to refuse.

Over 2.5 Cards

Both teams pick up a decent amount of cards on average with the hosts averaging 1.9 cards over their League One fixtures with the Hammers collecting 1.3, on average over their Premier League encounters. Granted that’s slightly lower than 2.5 here but on recent form the hosts have collected 12 over their last five on home soil with David Moyes’ side tallying up nine over their last five on the road. We reckon we’ll see at least three cards here over the 90 minutes.

David McGoldrick to Score Anytime

Republic of Ireland striker David McGoldrick is top of Derby’s goal-scorer charts with nine league goals this season over 12 starts and nine substitute appearances, followed by his compatriot James Collins with seven. He’s gotten two over his last five for the Rams and has four over his last five in a white shirt on home soil. He’s going to be Derby’s main scoring threat here and with the Hammers keeping just one clean sheet over their last eight away fixtures we reckon he has a good chance of getting on the scoresheet here.
