22- ACCA CRACKER - NEW CAP 1024

Wednesday night football sees off digging for value in the Copa del Rey quarter finals where Barcelona host Real Sociedad and Osasuna entertain Sevilla. In the Carabao Cup semi final we have Nottingham Forest taking on Manchester United but it’s to the Bundesliga first where we have a Top 4 clash involving Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen are also taking on Union Berlin.

7:30pm – Freiburg v Eintracht Frankfurt – Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals

It’s second v fourth here. Freiburg’s Top 4 push was given a rude wake-up call on Saturday last when Bundesliga proceedings restarted in their 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Wolfsburg. Frankfurt were 3-0 winners over relegation-fodder Schalke. The hosts have won three and lost two of their last five in the league while at home they’ve gone six games undefeated winning five and drawing one, scoring 11 and conceding just two.

Frankfurt have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five league fixtures while on their travels share the same results, scoring nine and conceding seven. Hard to see the hosts keeping a clean sheet here and those scoring records would suggest we’ll see at least three goals; Both Teams to Score & Overs has the value here.

7:30pm – Werder Bremen v Union Berlin – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sport Mix

Just five points separate Union and Bayern Munich at the top of the table at the time of writing. Werder were on the wrong end of a 7-1 spanking from FC Koln on Saturday and will still be smarting. Union got their season restarted with a 3-1 win over struggling Hoffenheim. The hosts have won just two of their last five league fixtures, losing the other three. On home soil, they’ve won three and lost two, scoring nine and conceding six with Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 goals landing in three.

Union Berlin have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five in the league but their away form has been dire, winning just one of their last five on their league travels, losing the other four with Overs landing in three of those five games. Werder must respond after their humiliation last weekend while Union can close the gap on the two teams above them with a win, so we should see both teams really going for it here and we reckon there’s at least three goals going to be served up.

8pm – Nottingham Forest v Man United – Both Teams to Score

TV: Sky Sports Football

Manchester United are odds-on here to advance to the final at the end of February. United were beaten 3-2 by Arsenal in a swashbuckling Premier League clash on Sunday. Forest, on Saturday, salvaged a point on the road away to Bournemouth to get them up the 13th in the table. The hosts have won two of their last five in all competitions, drawing two (winning one on penalties) and losing one. Their City Ground form is very good, they’ve not lost in any of their last eight games played there and of their last five have won two and drawn three, winning one on penalties)

United have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five and on their recent travels have won two, drawn one and lost two, scoring seven and conceding eight. United have only kept two clean sheets over their last 10 away games while Forest have scored in all but one of their 13 home fixtures this season. We’re going with a BTTS pick here.

8pm – Barcelona v Real Sociedad – Over 3.5 Goals

Both sides come into this Copa del Rey match in mighty form, the hosts have won seven of their last 10 games, drawing the other three and winning two of them either in ET or on penalties. At the Nou Camp they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring eight while conceding four.

Sociedad have won all seven of their most recent fixtures, winning six of them without conceding and on their travels have won five from five, scoring 14 and conceding just one. With two teams scoring for fun, we’re going for Over 3.5 goals for this one.

9pm – Osasuna v Sevilla – Under 2.5 Goals

Osasuna have won just one of their last five fixtures, drawing the other four, winning two of them via ET and penalties. Their home results have seen them winning three and losing two, scoring six and conceding four.

Sevilla have lost just one of their last seven games in all competitions, winning five and drawing one. On their recent travels they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring 11 and conceding just three. We’ve got two very solid defences here and only one of their last five meetings at both grounds have seen Over 2.5 goals. Unders has the value here.
