22- ACCA CRACKER - NEW CAP 1024

Wednesday night’s football has plenty for us to get our value-obsessed gnashers into. We’ll be looking at cup action in Spain where Atletico Madrid travel to Levante. Earlier in the night, Kilmarnock host Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and Celtic host St. Mirren. Sandwiched in between we have Crystal Palace taking on Man United at home but kicking us off we have Leeds taking on Cardiff in an FA Cup replay.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Leeds v Cardiff – Leeds to Win & Both Teams to Score

TV: ITV 4 (7.45pm)

Both of these sides have been drawing far, far too many games of late. Leeds have drawn three and lost two of their last five fixtures while Cardiff have drawn four and lost one of their last five. At Elland Road, the hosts have won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three, scoring nine and conceding 12.

Cardiff, on their travels, have won one, drawn two and lost two, scoring three and conceding five. The visitors have failed to hit the back of the net in three of their last five away games but this Leeds defence cannot be trusted, indeed they’ve only kept two clean sheets at home all season so they should get one. The hosts however, have scored at least two goals in three of their last four at home, against this Cardiff side they should at the very least manage that.

Celtic v St Mirren – Celtic to Win to Nil

St Mirren have only managed to score in one of their last six visits to Celtic Park and with the hosts conceding an average of 0.70 goals per home game they’re unlikely to score this time around too. The Celts have won all 12 of their most recent home league games while St Mirren have drawn two and lost three of their last five on the road in the Premiership, failing to score in five of their last seven on their travels. This one has Celtic to Win to Nil written all over it.

Crystal Palace v Man United – Man United to Win

TV: Sky Sports Premier League (8pm)

Palace are in a bad way of late, they’ve won just one of their last five fixtures, losing all four of the others. At Selhurst Park, things are a bit better with two wins and three losses. The Eagles won this fixture last season but it was their only win of United’s last six visits to south London, four ending in defeat for the home side.

United have won all seven games since football returned following the World Cup, Marcus Rashford’s contribution of eight goals over those seven games has been paramount to their recent success. Palace will raise their game here, they always do when the big guns come to town but this United side are in top form and we can’t see anything other than an away win.

Kilmarnock v Rangers – Both Teams to Score

TV: Sky Sports Football (8pm)

Kilmarnock have a pretty strong record against Rangers on home soil, they’ve beaten them in three of their last six visits half an hour down the M77, Rangers won two with one ending level. The hosts have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five at home in the league, scoring six and conceding four.

Rangers are nine points behind Celtic at the pinnacle of the league and it looks like they won’t be catching them. They’re in good league form though, winning four and drawing one of their last five and on their travels have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring eight and conceding five. Killie’s strong record at home means we have to go with a Both Teams to Score value pick here.

22- ACCA CRACKER - NEW CAP 1024

Levante v Atletico Madrid –  Both Teams to Score

Levante have long been a thorn in the side of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, the hosts have only lost twice to Atletico in their last seven visits to Valencia, they did only win one of those seven fixtures however, four of them ended level. The hosts are undefeated over their last nine on home soil, winning six and drawing three, scoring eight over their last five and conceding four.

Atletico have won three of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing one and share the same results over their last five on the road, scoring eight and conceding just three. The away side are obvious favourites but it’s hard to deny Levante’s good home record and their seeming hoodoo over the Colchoneros. Both Teams to Score has the value here.
