Crystal Palace v Man United, Premier League, Wednesday 8pm.
TV: Sky Sports Premier League

Manchester United have won all seven of their games since English football returned following the World Cup. Crystal Palace have only played five games over the same period but won just one of those five, losing all of the others. A swaggering Red Devils facing the wounded Eagles should be a straight-forward away win.

Man United to Win

As said in our intro, United have now won seven games in-a-row since returning to action. A rejuvenated Marcus Rashford has been key to their form of late, scoring in all seven of those matches. More on him below however. United have beaten the hosts at Selhurst Park in four of their last six visits, although they did lose 1-0 here last season. Their recent away Premier League form has seen them winning three, drawing one and losing one, scoring seven while conceding six.

Palace are in a bit of bother and while they’re seven points above the dropzone, a few bad results and they’re going to be in the mix. They’ve lost four of their last five in the Premier League and against this Manchester United side we can only see them recording yet another loss here.

Both Teams to Score

The glimmer of hope for Palace is that United have only kept three clean sheets on their Premier League excursions so far this season and the hosts have scored in six of their nine home league games this season, scoring five over their last five on home turf.

United are certainly improving of late, they’ve kept three clean sheets over their last five games but looks can be deceiving, they were against Bournemouth, Wolves and Forest so nothing really to boast about, they had conceded to Fulham, Villa and Everton prior so they can certain be tested at the back and we can see Palace drawing some blood here.

Marcus Rashford, Man United, 1-23

Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime

With eight goals in his last seven matches, Rashford is definitely on a roll. Against a Palace side who have conceded in all but one of their home Premier League games this season you’d have to fancy him to get on the scoresheet, particularly as the hosts have conceded an eye-watering seven goals over their last two home league encounters.

Rashford has only scored once in eight appearances against Crystal Palace but in such fine form we reckon he’ll be righting that on Wednesday night.

Crystal Palace Over 2.5 Cards

Patrick Vieira’s side don’t have a particularly bad disciplinary record in the Premier League with 40 yellow cards and two reds over their 18 league games. However, it’s not exactly a coincidence that going hand-in-hand with the bad recent results they’ve been picking up more bookings.

Over their last five home league clashes they’ve picked up a total of 13 cards and in all four of the most recent they picked up three per game. United draw plenty of fouls and with the likelihood that they’re going to enjoy the vast majority of the possession on Wednesday night it’s not hard to see Palace picking up at least three bookings again.
