Fulham to Win

It is a reflection of how good Fulham have been and how bad Chelsea have been that Chelsea currently find themselves three places and three points behind their near neighbours in the Premier League table.

Chelsea have been woeful this season, despite spending more than £300 million on new transfers, and have taken just four points from their last six Premier League games. They currently sit 10 points off the top four and find themselves out of both the FA Cup and League Cup without managing to progress through a single round. The pressure on new manager Graham Potter, which is already building to an uncomfortable level, will surely increase with a loss against in-form Fulham at Craven Cottage on Thursday night.

Fulham have been excellent this season and look set to finally end their long run of yo-yoing between the Premier League and Championship. Marco Silva’s side have practically guaranteed their Premier League safety after just 18 games and have won each of their three games since returning from the World Cup break. They also booked passage to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a comfortable win at Hull and can claim a rare win over their near neighbours on Thursday.

Both Teams to Score

Fulham have been among the most exciting teams in the Premier League this season and have been involved in 57 goals after 18 games, scoring 30 and conceding 27. Only Manchester City, Brentford, and Tottenham fans have seen more goals this season. Fulham have conceded an average of 1.5 goals per game and unsurprisingly boast the second-worst defensive record in the top half after Brentford. They have kept five clean sheets in 18 games and are unlikely to improve that record against Chelsea on Thursday.

Chelsea boast a far more modest record of 20 goals for and 19 against in the league this season and have failed to score in five of their last seven games in all competitions. However, they simply have to respond following Sunday’s FA Cup embarrassment at Manchester City and it would be surprising if they failed to find the back of the net against such a leaky Fulham defence. Fulham may have to score twice on Thursday.

Bobby Decordova Reid to Score Anytime

Fulham will sorely miss Aleksandar Mitrovic on Thursday night. The Serbian striker, who is suspended after picking up five yellow cards, has scored 11 goals so far this season, winning an impressive 11 points for his team. Fulham will need to make up for the loss of his goals if they are to upset their local rivals on Thursday night and Bobby Decordova Reid is arguably the most likely to step up to the plate.

With four league goals to his name, Decordova Reid is Fulham’s second-highest scorer in the Premier League. Most recently, he scored Fulham’s opener in the 3-0 win at Crystal Palace on Boxing Day and he can haunt another London club when Chelsea come to Craven Cottage.

Andreas Pereira Anytime Assist

Andreas Pereira has found a new lease of life since swapping Old Trafford for Craven Cottage in the summer. The Brazilian midfielder has registered four league assists this season, the joint-most of any Fulham player. He also boasts an average of 2.3 key passes per game, the best of any Fulham player by quite a distance.

Pereira’s average of 2.4 crosses per game is also triple that of any other Fulham player. It wouldn’t be surprising if he set up a teammate on Thursday.
