Who better to see in 2023 than Paddy Power ambassador and football legend Phil Thompson?
The Liverpool hero has served up another tasty treble for Wednesday night’s action in the English top flight and he’s got four matches to choose from on January 4.
Sorry Southampton and Nottingham Forest fans, your relegation six-pointer hasn’t made the cut, but you can still take advantage of Thommo’s tips. So, without further ado, let’s take a look…
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
THOMMO: I’m surprised by Antonio Conte saying it’s going to take a miracle for Spurs to finish in the top four. That is not what the fans or players want to hear.
They’re still in a good position, he needs to instil confidence. Emotionally he seems to go so high, and then so low.
Spurs were so poor against Villa, and again they conceded the first goal – that’s 10 times on the trot. They’ve not won any of their last 10 London derbies on the road, either.
However, I fancy them to reverse that. Palace are very up-and-down. They’d won three at home before losing to Fulham on Boxing Day where they had the two red cards. I fancy Spurs to just nick this one.
For my Wednesday night treble I’m adding in wins for Leeds and Aston Villa too.
Leeds played OK against Man City then got a good draw at Newcastle. They can go one further and get the three points against an out-of-form West Ham at Elland Road.
Villa did really well at Spurs and carry that form Into the local derby against Wolves.
