7:30pm – Southampton vs Nottingham Forest

Both teams to Score

Nottingham Forest travel to Southampton in arguably the first true six-pointer of the season on Wednesday night. It’s hard to say who this game means more to. Southampton are rock bottom and have lost their last five games while Forest have picked up just one point over their last six away Premier League games and boast the worst goal difference in the division.

Forest’s away form has also been poor. Steve Cooper’s side have picked up just two points in their away games, scoring just one goal in the process. That will simply have to change if they are to survive at the end of the season and need to at least get a result at St. Mary’s.

They have a chance of at least improving on their woeful goalscoring record on the road against a Southampton side that have managed to keep just one clean sheet all season. The Saints have conceded 32 goals in the league this season, the third-wors behind Forest and Bournemouth.

Forest, meanwhile, have conceded 34 goals in the league, with 22 of those coming away from home. It’s difficult to see either team keeping a clean sheet on Wednesday.

7.45pm: Leeds vs West Ham

Leeds -1

It is now five defeats in a row for a West Ham side that has slipped dangerously down the Premier League table in recent weeks. They currently find themselves outside the bottom three on goal difference and face a difficult away trip against a tricky Leeds side. The Hammers have won just once on the road all season and have failed to win any of their last six games on their travels.

Leeds, meanwhile, have only won two of their last 11 league games but have taken on eight of the current top ten in that spell. They held their own against an in-form Newcastle on Saturday and can heap more misery on David Moyes and West Ham. They have scored 13 goals in eight home games this season and have caused problems for every team that has visited Elland Road.

West Ham may suffer a two-goal defeat for the fourth game running.

Harry Kane Tottenham

8pm: Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Over 2.5 goals

TV: Sky Sports Premier League

Tottenham’s bad form is starting to become a real concern. Spurs have taken just seven points from their last seven games, with all seven points coming from losing positions. Antonio Conte’s side have fallen behind in each of their last seven games and their last ten games in all competitions.

They now find themselves outside the top four having played more games than most of the teams around them and have conceded 25 goals in 17 league games, which ranks among the worst defensive records in the league. They have conceded 15 goals in their last seven outings in the league, conceding at least two goals in each of those games.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have blown hot and cold of late, winning three and losing three of their last six games. They have only failed to score in two games at home this season and should cause plenty of problems for Spurs’ shaky defence. Spurs may have to score twice if they are to claim a crucial win on the road.

8pm: Aston Villa vs Wolves

Ollie Watkins to Score Anytime

Ollie Watkins may not be Aston Villa’s top scorer this season but he has started three out of four league games since Unai Emery took over at the club and is arguably the most likely Villa player to get on the scoresheet against Wolves on Wednesday. Watkins got Villa back into the game in the Boxing Day defeat to Liverpool and registered an assist in Villa’s win at Spurs on New Year’s Day.

He has registered three goals and two assists in his last six games in all competitions and will fancy his chances against a Wolves side that haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last seven outings in the Premier League.
