WHEN: December 26, 5.30pm – Arsenal v West Ham
TV: Amazon Prime

Fresh from lashing in a pre-Christmas 19/1 Bet Builder win on Man City v Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, our tipster is back predicting some Boxing Day misery for league leaders Arsenal…

The Draw

The World Cup break came at the worst possible time for Arsenal. The Gunners moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table in their final game but have now lost all momentum gained while taking 19 points from their final seven league games. To make matters worse, they have also lost Gabriel Jesus to a long-term injury.

It’s hard to gauge how any team will come back, but Arsenal may be among the worst-affected teams. They are certainly the team with the most to lose from a slow restart.

West Ham, on the other hand, would have been delighted with the arrival of the World Cup break, having lost their last three games before the season halted in November. The Hammers have had six weeks to find their rhythm again and have a good chance of causing an upset at the Emirates if they can catch Arsenal cold.

It wouldn’t be hugely surprising to see the Gunners make a stuttering start to the second half of the season. West Ham, meanwhile, can gain an important point to ease their relegation fears.

Gabriel Martinelli to Score Anytime

Gabriel Martinelli did not feature much during Brazil’s World Cup campaign, but there were bright moments during his performance against Cameroon, which his side ultimately lost. Martinelli had scored five league goals before the season came to a halt, the second-most of any Arsenal player after Martin Odegaard.

Martinelli’s goals have been vital to Arsenal’s title push in their opening 14 games, but his goalscoring exploits will be even more vital following the loss of his countryman Jesus, who has also scored five goals so far this season.

Arsenal will need the likes of Martinelli to hit the ground running if they are to continue their push for the Premier League title.

The Brazilian winger has scored two goals in four appearances against West Ham and can add to that record on Monday night.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

Bukayo Saka to have 1 or More Shots on Target

Bukayo Saka returns to the Arsenal squad following an excellent World Cup campaign with England. Saka finished as the Three Lions’ joint top-scorer with three goals, banishing the demons of the Euro 2020 final. Saka was one of England’s best players in the quarter-final defeat to France and will have had more than two weeks to recover by the time West Ham travel to the Emirates.

Saka averaged 1.8 shots per game at the tournament, slightly lower than his Premier League average of 2.1 shots per game. He is almost certain to test Lukasz Fabianski.

Gianluca Scamacca to have 1 or More Shots on Target

Gianluca Scamacca has enjoyed a strange start to life at West Ham since signing from Sassuolo in the summer. The Italian striker has certainly not set the world alight at the London Stadium but he is still West Ham’s joint top-scorer in the Premier League and their outright top-scorer in all competitions. Having said that, the Hammers will need a lot more from him in the second half of the season if they are to give themselves some breathing space.

The 23-year-old is probably the most likely Irons player to get on the scoresheet and is good value to register a shot on target. Scamacca averages 1.9 shots per game in the league and has a good chance of testing Aaron Ramsdale here.
