Boxing Day betting tips

12pm: Watford v Millwall – Watford to Win
12.30pm: Sunderland v Blackburn – Over 2.5 Goals
3pm: Bristol City v West Brom – West Brom to Win
3pm: Preston v Huddersfield – Both Teams to Score? No & Under 1.5 Goals
3pm: Sheffield United v Coventry – Sheff Utd Win & Under 3.5 Goals
5.15pm: Cardiff v QPR – QPR to Win
7.45pm: Luton v Norwich – The Draw

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. We’ve got 7 (SEVEN) games from The Championship on the telly on St. Stephen’s/Boxing Day this Monday so we’ve gone over each one in search of some late Christmas presents. We’ll kick off at midday with Watford v Millwall and round up with a little four fold acca for your consideration.

12pm: Watford v Millwall – Watford to Win

TV: Sky Sports Red Button

Grab your first portion of leftover turkey and get comfy as it’s a London derby of sorts to get the action underway. Watford are 4th, six places and five points clear of Millwall in 10th heading into this one. They key to this game could be Millwall’s shocking away form.

They’re electric at The Den and have the third-best record in the second tier with 23 points from 11 games. However, on the road, they’ve won just nine points from the same number of matches, the second worst in the league. The Hornets are handy enough at home and we should see a Watford Win.

12.30pm: Sunderland v Blackburn – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football and Sky Showcase

Promotion-chasing Blackburn head north to Sunderland on Monday with The Black Cats ticking along nicely in midtable following their promotion last season. Rovers are 3rd, five points of second while the hosts are 13th and three points off the playoffs.

These two have been really inconsistent since the return of the Championship and it’s hard to say which way this is going to go. Your best bet here might be to side with Over 2.5 Goals. This has landed in two of Sunderland’s three games this month and one of Blackburn’s two with us just missing by a single goal in the remaining two matches.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

3pm: Bristol City v West Brom – West Brom to Win

TV: Sky Sports Red Button

Both Bristol City and West Brom will be disappointed how the first half of the season has gone with them sitting in 18th and 16th respectively. However, The Baggies are on the charge now with an impressive five wins from six either side of the World Cup.

City, well, they’ve won just one of their last eight in all competitions, losing four and drawing the other three. Everything is pointing towards a West Brom Win and we’re getting a little Festive gift with the price as well which has been boosted as they lost last time out.

3pm: Preston v Huddersfield – BTTS No and Under 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Red Button

It’s Preston v Huddersfield next as the 7th placed side hosts the team currently bottom of the pile. This is probably trickier than it should be to call with Preston ranked 4th worst on home form in the division with two thirds of their points coming on the road and consecutive defeats at Deepdale.

The Terriers are the worst side on the road though and have lost three of their last five away from home. Preston’s home performances mean this has got danger written all over it but Huddersfield haven’t scored in their last three. Preston’s defensive prowess is well known so it might pay to side with Both Teams to Score? No and Under 2.5 Goals.

3pm: Sheff Utd v Coventry – Sheff U Win & Under 3.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Red Button

Sheffield United’s promotion charge sees them tackle Coventry at Bramall Lane on Monday. They’re second, three points off top and five clear of third. The ever-troubled Sky Blues are 8th and have largely made up their games in hand over everyone else. The Blades are red hot and they come into this clash on the back of six wins and a loss in their last seven.

Cov had been on a good run up until the international break with seven wins in their last nine but they’ve lost, drawn and won their games this month. Goals are generally at a premium when United play but they should win this so the price on Sheffield United to Win and Under 3.5 Goals is a good one and would have paid in five of their last seven.

22- ACCA CRACKER - NEW CAP 1024

5.15pm: Cardiff v QPR – QPR to Win

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

If all that’s not enough for you we’ve still got two games to see us through into the evening with Cardiff and QPR next up on the main channels. The Bluebirds are flirting with relegation down in 20th while QPR are scrapping to keep their playoff hopes alive after some terrible form but they’re still somehow in 6th.

They ended a run of four losses on the bounce with a win against Preston last time out and they’ll be hoping for a repeat on Monday evening. Cardiff haven’t won for four games and have triumphed on just two occasions in their last 10 games, losing six of those. It might be a bit of a risk but we’ll hope the visitors have rediscovered their mojo and we’ll try to take advantage of the price on QPR to Win.

7.45pm: Luton v Norwich – The Draw

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

We finish our festive football feast at the unholy surroundings of Luton’s Kenilworth Road where Norwich are the visitors. It’s not quite gone to plan for either and the Canaries are 5th with Luton slipping to 15th after a decent start.

Town have won only once in their last six but Norwich have been a bit shaky as well, failing to win in six through October before going on to win three of their most recent six. Norwich’s best recent form has come on the road while Luton have drawn their last three in front of their own fans. In a tricky match to call The Draw should, at least, keep us right in the match until the final whistle.
