Rangers and Hibernian got the Scottish Premiership back underway midweek with a 3-2 thriller and we have what should be a pre-Christmas cracker lined up for Saturday lunchtime when Celtic travel north-east to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen. The Dons went into the break in good shape, winning nine of their last 10 in all competitions while Celtic have the same record of late in the league. Let’s find the four best value bets then for a whopper Bet Builder.
Both Teams to Score Two or More Goals
Aberdeen have a very healthy scoring average this season with 1.93 goals scored per league game but it’s at home where they’ve been a force to reckon with, winning six of their seven games, scoring 3.14 goals on average per home Premiership match. Indeed, they’ve scored at least two goals in five of their last six league games on home turf and have scored at least two against Celtic in two of their last four meetings here.
Celtic, as league leaders, have netted 50 times in the league this season, scoring more than half on their travels; 28, averaging 3.50 goals per away Premiership game. They’ve hit two against Aberdeen in eight of their last 10 visits there and should be good for two again here. Value is on our side then with those stats so rather than going with a normal BTTS bet here we think both will get at least two over the 90 minutes.
Kyogo Furuhashi to Score Anytime
Kyogo Furuhashi didn’t make the cut for Japan’s World Cup side, it was a huge surprise at the time but Japan wanted to play fast, counter-attacking football and coach Hajime Moriyasu felt Furuhashi’s talents in front of goal wouldn’t suit the style of play they were going with. Regardless, Kypgo has now had plenty of rest and training and will surely be eager to continue his sparkling form in front of goal for Celtic which has seen him scoring 10 league goals in 13 appearances, as well as another one in the League Cup. He’s already got one against Aberdeen in a Bhoys shirt and we’re liking the odds here for him to get on the scoresheet once again against the Dons.

Ylber Ramadani to be Shown a Card
We all love those enforcers in football teams whether it’s Casemiro in his Real Madrid pomp or his replacement Aurelien Tchouameni, Sergio Busquets of Barcelona or to go back further Roy Keane at Man United. Now, Ramadani doesn’t quite have the talent of those four players…yet, he’s still only 26 and has been a great signing by Jim Goodwin. There’s a steely grit to his game that’s made him the perfect fit.
He’s there to protect the defenders, break up the play of the opposing team and get the ball out of the centre of the park to the wide players to get attacks started. He takes no nonsense whatsoever and is more than happy to bring a man down to call a temporary halt to an attack. As such, he’s so far received four yellow cards over his league appearances this season and against a Celtic side who will certainly have the majority of the ball we mark him as the most likely player for the home side to be booked here.
Celtic to Win
Celtic have won here in eight of their last 10 visits in all competitions and have also won eight of their last 10 against the Dons at both grounds. While a good case can be made for Aberdeen to score a few here, and they really should, the fact is that the visitors have the better, and more experienced, firepower in their ranks. The hosts will make it a tough afternoon for the Celts but they should have enough to snatch the three points.
