Short-priced Punt: Both Teams To Score? No
The first thing to mention about this match up is Sunderland’s dreadful home record this season. Despite sitting 10th in the league heading into the weekend The Black Cats have taken just 13 points in front of their own fans in 10 attempts and three of those came last weekend in the 3-0 demolition of Millwall.
The Baggies had won three on the bounce heading into the international break but, obviously, their home and away records are nothing to shout about given that they’re 21st in the division. So, ignoring results for our first punt and it might be worth taking a look at Both Teams To Score? No.
This has clicked in three of Sunderland’s last four with the only exception being a 2-1 win away at Birmingham. It’s even more frequent for The Baggies with BTTS? No occurring in all of their last four matches and eight of their last nine. Both Teams to Score? No should have a great chance.
Value Play: Sunderland and Over 1.5 Goals
The fact that Sunderland have had a competitive 90 minutes under their belt this month whereas West Brom’s last game was four weeks ago could be huge in deciding this game. Sunderland played at home and won 3-0 last Saturday so they’ll be in full confidence.
While West Brom come here on the back of those three wins I mentioned earlier, the first of those came six weeks ago and that momentum that they were building up will be completely gone. It’s not to say they can’t win this, but on the back of a positive result last weekend, we’ll take Sunderland to Win and Over 1.5 Goals at a bit of a price.
Long Shot: Sunderland to Win Both Halves
If The Black Cats are that little but sharper, as they should he having played last weekend, we might be able to make a little bit of hay backing them to start fast and to dominate this from the off. If they can get their noses in front they might push on so Sunderland to Win Both Halves is a great price.
