Ghana vs Uruguay betting tips

The grudge match to end all grudge matches; Ghana take on Uruguay on Friday afternoon with a place in the last-16 at stake 12 years after Luis Suarez’s infamous handball denied the African nation a place in the World Cup semi-finals.
Barring a three-goal win for South Korea against Portugal, a draw will be enough for Ghana to book their place in the knockout stages and exact their revenge. Ghana entered the World Cup as the lowest-ranked team in the tournament but have been far from the worst team in the tournament. They caused Portugal plenty of problems and were probably slightly fortunate to win against South Korea but showed plenty of threat going forward.
Uruguay, on the other hand, have been one of the World Cup’s great disappointments. Like Denmark, Uruguay came into this tournament as real dark horses. Like Denmark, they currently sit bottom of their group after an uninspired campaign with the added bonus of being the only team that has yet to score at the World Cup.
They simply do not look like scoring and Ghana may just get their point and earn a little bit of revenge for an incident that has haunted them for over a decade.
Mohammed Kudus to have two shots or more
Mohammed Kudus has been one of the most impressive players at the World Cup to date. The Ajax midfielder set up Andre Ayew’s equaliser in Ghana’s 3-2 defeat to Portugal in their opening game of the competition and scored twice in Ghana’s 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday.
He averages two shots per game at the World Cup and it would be surprising if he failed to match that average on Friday afternoon.
Uruguay have faced a modest total of 22 shots in two games at the World Cup but will be forced to open up as they chase a win and their only chance of qualifying for the knockout stages. Ghana -and Kudus – should find space that Portugal and South Korea didn’t.
South Korea vs Portugal betting tips
Friday, December 2 – 3pm

Like France, Portugal go into their final group game with top spot all but secured and are therefore likely to rest players ahead of a round-of-16 clash next week. They also come up against a side in desperate need of a result to reach the knockout stages.
South Korea need to beat Portugal and hope that Uruguay beat Ghana if they are to make the last-16, while also ensuring that Uruguay do not overtake them on goal difference. They have been decent in both of their games and can count themselves somewhat unfortunate to have just one point at this stage of the competition.
They should at least avoid defeat against a side with nothing to play for.
South Korea to have four or more shots on target
South Korea failed to have a single shot on target in their suffocating 0-0 draw with Uruguay in their opening game of the competition, but they managed seven in their defeat to Ghana last Friday as they launched desperate attack after desperate attack to try and rescue a draw.
It would be surprising if they did not launch a similar barrage against Portugal on Friday, especially as the game enters the latter stages.
Portugal have faced three shots on target in each of their World Cup games so far, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see that figure rise on Friday considering they are likely to rest players and take their foot off the pedal.
