Monday, November 28: 10:00 – Cameroon v Serbia
TV: ITV, ITVX, RTE Two

Serbia are much-fancied as a Dark Horses in this World Cup and prior to their Group G opening-day defeat at the hands of Brazil had been on a run of six games undefeated. Cameroon, on the other hand, have only won one of their last seven fixtures. Both teams will have to go for a win here as their chances of qualifying now after opening days defeats means they need to get three points on the board before their final games later in the week. We’ve gone deep into the stats and form here for both sides and found the four best bets for a tasty-looking Bet Builder.

Both Teams to Score

Serbia are odds-on to take the three points here but Cameroon, despite their bad results in the run-up to the World Cup are no pushovers. The Indomitable Lions have scored in four of their last seven games and while that’s not exactly ideal for a Both Teams to Score bet we have to point out that the Serbians have only managed to keep two clean sheets over their last nine fixtures.

Serbia’s talents are among their attacking players, the likes of Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic, Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, Ajax’s Dusan Tadic and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but their defence is a bit leaky and we should see both teams getting on the scoresheet here.

1-2 Correct Score

According to the odds Paddy’s traders have priced the 0-1 victory to Serbia as the most likely occurrence here, followed by a 0-2 and 1-2. We’re really liking the looks of the 1-2 scoreline though as, as we’ve made the argument above, we expect both sides to get on the scoresheet here.

Serbia though should really emerge as the winners here. No doubt they were toothless against Brazil on Thursday last but really it was fairly obvious from the start that Serbia see themselves advancing to the Last 16 with wins over Cameroon and Switzerland. They have more than enough attacking prowess in the final third to really hurt Cameroon and the odds on a 1-2 victory for Dragan Stojkovic’s White Eagles offer some very decent value.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, Serbia

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Score or Assist

Mitrovic and Vlahovic are favourites with the punters to find the back of the net here and, of course a good argument can be made for both, particularly Fulham’s Mitrovic who’s been in scintillating form for the Cottagers this season, netting nine in his 12 Premier League games this season.

We want to shine a light on Lazio’s Milinkovic-Savic though, he’s been instrumental in getting Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio back into the Top 4 in the Serie A, scoring three and creating seven in his 13 starts for the Eagles. Over his last 20 games for both club and country he’s scored four and created nine and his odds to Score or Assist here represent some great value.

Serbia to Win

This one really sweetens the deal in our Bet Builder. We’ve already made the case for a Serbian win but it’s worth repeating here who good they’ve been of late. Indeed, over the last 13 months they’ve won 10 of their 14 matches and against a Cameroon side who have won just one of their last seven matches there’s really only going to be one winner here.
