Belgium are the only team in Group F with a win so far after their 1-0 victory over a very tenacious Canadian side. They were very lucky in that game with many of their star players being nullified by the Maple Leafs getting their tactics spot on, except for putting the ball in the back of the net. They face a Moroccan side who kept Croatia scoreless in a 0-0 draw last Wednesday who will no doubt try to negate Belgium’s forward players. Let’s dive into the stats then and find the four best bets for a value-packed Bet Builder.

Both Teams to Score
Belgium are rarely kept scoreless, indeed the Red Devils have only failed to score in one of their last 23 matches so of course you’d have to expect them to score here. Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois was immense in the Belgian goal and were it not for his acrobatics the Canadians may well have beaten them on Wednesday last. However, of their last 14 games they’ve conceded in all but two and one of those was against minnows Burkina Faso.
The question is then, will Morocco draw some blood? The Atlas Lions have only failed to score in three of their last 20 games and while Courtois is one of the best in the business he’s got a shaky back three in front of him and with the records of both sides in front of goal we see value in the Both Teams to Score price for this Group F showdown.
Morocco to Receive the Most Cards
Canada picked up just two Yellow Cards when they faced Belgium in what was a very disciplined display from John Herdman’s side. You’d have to expect the Red Devils to have a bit more fire in their bellies here. Yes, they won but it wasn’t a good display from a side fancied to make at least the quarter finals but they’ll feel the need to put in a better shift here and remind the world of the qualities they have throughout their squad.
Morocco were lucky to pick up just one Yellow Card against the Croatians in their 0-0 draw last Wednesday and a different referee on another day would surely have pencilled a few more names into his black book. They won’t take the same approach as the Canadians and try and get at the Belgians, they play very defensively and will be happy to soak up pressure and counter attack. As such they’re going to be chasing a lot of the ball and against a midfield featuring Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Yannick Carrasco we’re going to see them taking men to the ground here. As such we’re getting plenty of value here for the Moroccans to receive the most cards here.
Kevin De Bruyne to Score or Assist
Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne was a tad anonymous against Canada on Wednesday night. As mentioned above the Canadians got their tactics spot on yet somehow De Bruyne was awarded the Man of the Match award. During his post-game interview he said “I don’t know why I got the trophy.” We don’t either Kevin. Morocco will, of course, try and keep the City man quiet here too but it’s hard to see them repeating what the Canadians could do.
Over De Bruyne’s last 37 games for both club and country his stats are simply outstanding, scoring 10 goals and providing 17 assists meaning we’re getting an assist every 2.17 games and a goal every 3.7. With those figures we’re getting some very nice value for him to Score or Assist here.
Belgium to Win
Belgium should have enough to overpower a defensive-minded Morocco here. The African side will set up shop to cancel out their attacking threat but over 90 minutes there’s just too much quality in their Belgian side. They were second best against the Canadians except in goal with Courtois while at the other end when a chance fell to Fenerbahce’s Michy Batshuayi he was able to convert it and for all Canada’s huffing and puffing they still took the three points.
We should see a better Belgium side here and having won four of their last six competitive games we can only see one winner here.
