Group B Winners – England
I see England topping Group B. When you look at it, it could be tricky especailly because we have Wales in there. The USA too. These are going to be like derby games. And you know how unpredictable derby games can be. Saying that, I do think that England will find a way to win all three and finish the group with nine points.
Group C Winners – Argentina
Going on current form you’d have to pick Argentina as having the best chance of winning this World Cup. Saudi Arabia and Poland I think will end up being the also-rans, with Mexico second in Group C, I think they’ve enough quality in their squad to overcome Poland but really it’s going to be Argentina flexing their muscles in this group and they should qualify at a canter.
Group E Winners – Spain
It’s inevitable really that we’re going to see both Germany and Spain qualifying from Group E – they should have plenty of quality in their ranks to overcome both Japan and Costa Rica. However, looking at this German team I think they reached a peak a good few years ago now and haven’t pushed on since winning the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
Most teams don’t and I don’t think this squad is nearly as good as the one from 2014. They should have more than enough to get through this group, though. Spain though look really good, they have so many players all over the pitch who are better in possession, better at creating chances and making that bit of magic when needed, and their defence looks solid too so I think they’ve finish ahead of the Germans.
Group G Winners – Brazil
I’m really expecting Brazil to shine and to show us their qualities at this World Cup. The group should be plane sailing for the Brazilians and I see them going through with a maximum nine points under their belts. Serbia are a very good side who’ll make it tough for anyone they go up against. Cameroon too are a tricky team and the Swiss can take anyone on their day. However, Brazil’s squad are vastly superior to all of the others in Group G, it’s stuffed-full with players playing at the best clubs in the world and I see them topping this group and advancing to the knockout rounds.
