WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Derby v Torquay – Derby to Win & Both Teams to Score

TV: BBC Three

Torquay earned a replay at Pride Park thanks to a 90th minute goal from Will Goodwin and are massive outsiders to get a result here. The visitors aren’t exactly in the best form it must be said, they’ve won just one of their last five fixtures in all competitions, drawing two and losing two while on their recent travels have also won just one while losing the other four, scoring just two goals and conceding 13.

Derby have won two and drawn three of their last five, one of those draws ended in a loss on penalties to Liverpool at Anfield. Their recent home form isn’t exactly mighty with two wins, one draw and two losses. The visitors have a terrible away record but recent overall form has seen them scoring a very healthy 12 goals over their last five and of the Ram’s 11 home games this season in all competitions they’ve only managed to keep the opposition scoreless on three occasions. Derby should score a few here against a Torquay side with a very leaky defence but the Gulls are scoring plenty of late and should make a dent against a home defence that doesn’t have a tradition of keeping clean sheets.

Wimbledon v Weymouth – Wimbledon to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

League Two’s Wimbledon taking on the bottom side in the National League North should be a walk in the park for the Dons. They’ve won two of their last five in all competitions and drawn three, losing one on penalties. At Kingsmeadow they’re in pretty decent shape, winning four of their last five, drawing and losing one apiece, scoring 11 while conceding seven, scoring at least two in four of those six matches.

Weymouth have won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three while on their travels have actually been a bit better with two wins and three losses, scoring eight and conceding 14. We should be looking at a 3-0, 2-1 or above scoreline here and we’re getting a decent price for a home win and at least three goals.

Cambridge v Curzon Ashton – Cambridge to Win to Nil

Neither team come into this in good shape, Cambridge are struggling in League One, sitting third from bottom on 20 points from 18 games and have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five fixtures. Curzon Ashton are also third from bottom in the National League North and haven’t won any of their last five fixtures, drawing three and losing two, scoring just one goal over those five games.

On their travels they’ve won two, drawn two (losing one on penalties) and lost one, scoring three and conceding just two. The U’s have only conceded one in their last three overall games and in their last three at home too and they should, quite easily, win this replay to nil.

Gillingham v AFC Flyde – Both Teams to Score

Of all the replays this is the one where we could see an upset. Gillingham are in awful form, they’ve won none of their last five fixtures, drawing two (winning one on penalties) and losing three. At Priestfield they’ve won one, drawn three (winning one on penalties) and lost one, scoring six and conceding seven.

Flyde have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five and will be confident of getting something against a Gills side who have won none of their last eight fixtures. However, their away form is suspect with just one win over their last five on their travels, drawing two and losing two, scoring seven and conceding eight. With both teams scoring and conceding plenty, Both Teams to Score has the best value here.

Hartlepool v Soliull Moors – Under 2.5 Goals

League Two’s Hartlepool have won just one of their last five matches, drawing one and losing three while at Victoria Park have won two and lost three, scoring five and conceding 13. Solihull have won none of their last five games, drawing three and losing two while on their excursions have won one, drawn two and lost two, scoring just three while conceding four. With neither side being exactly prolific in front of goal we’re unlikely to see a classic here and seeing more than two goals is unlikely. We’re backing Unders.
