32 teams go for glory in Qatar this month but only one can take home the trophy. The 2022 World Cup final is in the book for the 18th of December and someone’s going to be going home disappointed.
We’ve already seen Paddy’s panel’s World Cup outright winner predictions, but who are their selections beating in the final?
NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?
Oh, and if you’re not aware, Paddy’s world cup panel goes from the sublime to the ridiculous with Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, Mark Lawrenson,, our top football trader Jason Murphy and, well, Paddy Power himself delivering their verdict. Let’s see who’s taking home the runners-up medal.
THOMMO
I fancy ARGENTINA to be the runners up. They’re on a great run, 35 games unbeaten going in, which is astonishing at international level.
CHARLIE
I’m a little torn between France and Brazil but I can’t sit on the fence here so I’ll go with BRAZIL to be beaten by Argentina in an all South American final.
LAWRO
I’ve got ARGENTINA as the losing finalists. Lionel Messi’s still a top player but going from playing in Ligue 1 to must-win games at a World Cup will be tough.
JASON
If the groups work out as expected then FRANCE will be on the ‘easier’ side of the draw and should make it to the final.
PADDY
I’ll go for GERMANY. It’s a lazy-enough prediction but they are such a good, consistent tournament team. They’ll surely be there at the business end.
