Wednesday night’s football sees a few European power houses in action in the Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and the Scottish Premiership. We’ve gone through the stats for the best of the games on offer and found a four-fold Acca that’s absolutely crammed with value.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
RB Leipzig v Freiburg: Leipzig to Win & Over 1.5 Goals
TV: Sky Sports Mix
Both sides come into their Bundesliga matchday 14 clash in flying form. The Bulls look to have finally put their early season wobble behind them and have now gone 11 games without defeat, winning nine and drawing two. In their Bundesliga matchups they’ve won four of their last six, drawing the other two while at the RB Arena have won five in-a-row, scoring 14 and conceding just two.
Freiburg are on a six match undefeated run in all competitions while in the Bundesliga have won three, drawn one and lost one and on their league travels have won two, drawn two and lost one, scoring seven and conceding nine. The Bulls should come out on top here, they’ve improved greatly of late and their defence at home has been very strong. Saying that Freiburg are in mighty good form and may cause a few problems for the hosts so we’re likely looking at a 2-0, 2-1 or above scoreline here so we’re backing the hosts to Win and Over 1.5 goals.
Inter v Bologna: Inter to Win & Over 2.5 Goals
TV: BT Sport 1
Inter have been on the end of two bad defeats of late, losing 2-0 away to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and going 2-0 down to the Old Lady in the Derby D’Italia on Sunday night in a game they really could have gotten something from. They’ll be desperate to get back to winning ways here and the market has them at very short odds to do the business. I Nerazzurri have won three and lost two of their last five in all competitions while in the Serie A have won four and lost one and at the San Siro share the same results stats with 10 goals scored and just three conceded.
Bologna have been in robust form, winning four of their last five in all competitions while in the league have won three, drawn one and lost one. Their away trips have seen them struggle however, they’ve won just one of their last five on the road, drawing one and losing three with six goals scored and 11 conceded. The visitors have scored in all 10 of their most previous visits to take on Inter at the San Siro and with nine goals over their last five Serie A games you’d be forgiven for expecting them to score here. Inter though must win, they’re 11 points behind Napoli at the time of writing but we see their strong league form helping them get across the line here. Inter to Win and Over 2.5 goals is the way to go here.
Motherwell v Celtic: Celtic to Win & Both Team to Score
TV: Motherwell TV (PPV)
Celtic now have a seven point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership and in facing a Motherwell side who have won just one of their last five fixtures they’re likely to add another three points to their total of 36. Rangers take on Hearts at the same time at Ibrox and cannot afford anything less than a victory. Motherwell, as previously mentioned, have won one and lost four of their last five in all competitions and share the same results over their last five in the league while at Fir Park have won one, drawn one and lost three.
The Bhoys have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five in all competitions while in the league have won six in-a-row and on their Premiership travels have won four and lost one, scoring 18 while conceding six. Even though they’re in bad form, the Steelmen have scored at least one in six of their last seven and with the away side keeping just one clean sheet over their last seven league games we see them scoring here again. Celtic though have far more talent across the park and will surely score at least one more.
Mallorca v Atletico Madrid: Under 2.5 Goals
TV: Premier Sports 1
Mallorca come into their La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid in the better form of the pair as they’ve won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five with Atletico winning just one of their last five, drawing one and losing two. The host’s record on home soil isn’t great though with just one win over their last five home La Liga fixtures, drawing two and losing two.
Diego Simeone’s side have won two, drawn two and lost one over their last five in league competition while on their travels have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring eight and conceding five. Only two of their last 10 combined home/away games have seen Over 2.5 goals and while Atletico are the better side on paper their form isn’t good enough for us to confidently back them. Unders is the smarter bet here.
