AC Milan are now six points behind league leaders Napoli after 12 Serie A games. The Rossoneri are very short odds to win here and are in very strong form of late, winning four of their last five fixtures across all competitions, losing the other one, and in the league share the same record. At the San Siro, in the league, they’ve also won seven of their eight home fixtures, losing the other one and have scored 12 over their last five and have conceded five.
Spezia have won just one of their last five games, drawing one and losing three and on their league travels have lost all five of their most recent away games, failing to score in all of them while conceding 10. This one has Milan to Win to Nil written all over it.
8pm: Angers v Lens – Lens to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0
TV: BT Sport Extra
Lens are still snapping at the heels of PSG, they’re five points behind and the pressure is on them here to keep up the pace. They’re in great form, winning four of their last five in Ligue 1, losing the other one but their away form isn’t as good with two wins, two draws and one loss, scoring six and conceding just three.
Angers are firmly rooted to the bottom of the league with just eight points from their 13 league clashes and have won none of their last five league outings. On home soil things aren’t much better with just one win over their last five and four losses where they scored seven and conceded 12. Lens don’t score a ton it must be said and their defence is very solid, conceding just three goals on the road so we’re likely looking at a 0-1 or 0-2 here so let’s go with the value and back Lens to Win 0-1, 0-2 or 0-3.
8pm: Barcelona v Almeria – Barcelona to Win to Nil
TV: Premier Sports 1
Barcelona can overtake Real Madrid at the pinnacle of the La Liga table for at least 48 hours should they take the three points on offer here and there wouldn’t be too many out there who’d bet against them. Xavi’s side have won four of their last five in all competitions, losing the other one while their league results share the same record. At the Nou Camp they’ve gone one better with five wins from five, scoring 15 while conceding none with Robert Lewandowski playing a starring role, scoring seven of those 15.
Almeria’s form of late has been quite good for a promoted side, they’ve won three of their last five La Liga matches, losing the other two but on the road they’ve been pretty awful, winning none of their six games, drawing one and losing five. They’ve failed to score over three of their last five on their travels and they could be in for a pounding here. We’re backing Barca to Win to Nil here, a bet that would have landed in all five of their most recent home league games.
8pm: Los Angeles FC v Philadelphia Union – LAFC to Win
TV: Sky Sports Main Event
Both sides come into the MLS final in great shape. LAFC have won four and lost one while Philadelphia have won three, drawn one and lost one but you’d have to admit that, thanks to having the match on home soil, it’s the hosts who will have a clear advantage here. Their home record has seen LAFC also winning four and losing one, scoring 11 and conceding four while Union have won two, drawn one and lost one on their travels, scoring eight while conceding five.
Only two of the last six finals have seen Over 2.5 goals occurring and while that’s a trend we could exploit here the fact is that these teams scored a combined 138 goals over their league campaign so it would be a bit risky. Saying that, LA have a clear advantage here and Union will set up to frustrate them but over the 90 minutes they should have enough firepower to come away with the victory. We’re backing the home side to Win.
