Sunday night’s football is serving up some mouth-watering fixtures including a MLS Payoff semifinal where LAFC face an Austin side who’ve beaten them twice of late. We’ll also be delving deep for value in the Serie A where Milan can close the gap on league leaders Napoli while in France Lyon are in bad shape and face a Lille side on the up. Finally then, to Spain where Betis travel to a rampant Real Sociedad.

LAFC v Austin FC – Both Teams to Score, No Draw

TV: Freesports

LAFC head into their MLS Playoff semifinal as short-odds favourites but Austin have been a thorn in their side this season as the Texans have won both of their previous encounters. Of course, the visitors have played one game more too as LA, as winners of the West Coast side of the league didn’t have to play in the last 16 round, beating city rivals LA Galaxy in their quarter final while Austin had to beat both Real Salt Lake and state rivals FC Dallas in their previous knockout matches.

LA will, again, be without Gareth Bale and have won three of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing one while on home soil have won four and lost one, scoring nine and conceding four. Austin have won just one of their last five, drawing three, winning one on penalties and losing one. On their away trips they’ve won just one of their last five, losing the other four. With just four draws over their combined 34 home/away games this season and a place in the final up for grabs against either Philadelphia Union or New York City we can’t see this ending level. Both teams are going to go for it here so the best value is in backing Both Teams to Score, No Draw.

Torino v AC Milan – AC Milan to Win

TV: BT Sport 1

With Napoli in action on Saturday, facing Sassuolo in the afternoon, there could be a six-point gap between the leaders and second-placed Milan going into this game and that will be all the motivation needed for the Rossoneri to go after the three points on the line. The away side have won four of their last five fixtures in all competitions, sharing the same results over their last five away games, scoring 11 while conceding six and over their last five away Serie A games have won three and drawn two, scoring eight and conceding four.

Torino have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games in all competitions while in the Serie A have won just one, drawing one and losing three and at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino have won one, drawn two and lost two, scoring just two goals while conceding three. Against a Torino side struggling for goals we’re getting Milan priced above Evens to Win here. That screams value.

Lyon v Lille – Lille and Draw

TV: BT Sport 2

Lyon come into their seventh home Ligue Un game of the campaign in terrible form, they’ve managed just four points from a possible 15 over their last five fixtures. Their home league form is a bit better though with three wins, one loss and a draw over their last five but that recent form would have to have you scratching your head wondering why they’re favourites here.

Especially as Lille are in such immense form themselves of late, winning four of their last five in the league losing the other one and their away form isn’t too shabby as well with three wins and two losses over their last five with 11 goals scored and six conceded. Les Dogues have lost just one league game at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais over their 10 meetings against the hosts, six wins, three draws and one loss. With the hosts in bad shape we’re taking the away side on the Double Chance here.

Real Sociedad v Betis – Real Sociedad to Win

TV: Premier Sports 1

It’s fourth versus fifth here in La Liga but it’s the hosts who are enjoying the better run of form of recent times. Sociedad have won four and lost one of their last five fixtures in all competitions, losing the other one while in league action share the same results and at the Reale Arena, in the league, have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring six and conceding six.

Betis have won two, drawn two and lost one over their last five games while in La Liga have won one, drawn two and lost two and on their league excursions have won one, drawn two and lost two, scoring just three goals and conceding four. Based on those stats you’d have to expect a home win here, especially with the hosts in such robust form. With odds over Evens for a home win we’re getting plenty of value for Erreala to take the three points here.
