Manchester United have not set the world on fire in the Champions League this season but have still given themselves a good chance of topping their group.
United currently trail Real Sociedad by three points and will need to win in Spain in their final group game regardless of what happens in the game between Sociedad and Omonia on Thursday night.
United have made plenty of progress under Erik Ten Hag, but that hasn’t extended to their Europa League. The Red Devils staggered to unconvincing wins in back-to-back games against Omonia after recording a fairly comfortable 2-0 win away to their Moldovan opponents this week.
They are rightfully installed as unbackable favourites, but their previous European form this season suggests that they won’t beat them out of sight.

Marcus Rashford to Score Anytime
Marcus Rashford is United’s top scorer this season with five goals in all competitions, but it could be much, much more if he showed a bit more composure in front of goal.
Rashford missed a hatful of chances in United’s 2-0 win over Spurs last week and was guilty of being too timid when he was put in on goal against Chelsea on Saturday. He also missed a glorious late chance to steal three points against Newcastle in a forgettable 0-0 draw two weeks ago.
Prior to that, Rashford was desperately unlucky to have a goal ruled out against Everton for an extremely harsh handball decision.
He has endured a run of rotten luck and poor finishing over the past four games and has the chance to set the record straight against inferior opposition.

Christian Eriksen Anytime Assist
Christian Eriksen already looks like one of the signings of the summer at this early stage of the season.
The Dane has been superb for United this season in central midfield and helped them control proceedings in the first half against Chelsea at the weekend.
He has registered two Premier League assists so far this season in addition to one in the Europa League – coming against Sheriff in Moldova.
Eriksen has been averaging 2.5 key passes per game in Europe this season and has the ability to split defences with eye-of-the-needle passes that break the lines. He has already assisted Rashford once this season and it wouldn’t be hugely surprising if he did it again on Thursday.
Antony to Score Anytime
Antony has not scored in any of his last three Premier League games after scoring in each of his three league appearances before that.
However, the Brazilian winger has consistently been United’s most dangerous player and seems to get fans out of their seats every time he gets the ball.
He showed his one-footedness against Chelsea, screwing wide from a brilliant position. However, he has otherwise been excellent and was unlucky not to score against either Newcastle or Tottenham.
Antony has yet to score in Europe for United but has an excellent opportunity to do so on Thursday.
