Manchester City to win
Manchester City squeaked over the line when Borussia Dortmund came to town earlier in the season thanks to late goals from John Stones and Erling Haaland, but they shouldn’t experience too many problems in Dortmund on Tuesday night. City can secure their place in the knockout stages as group winners if they avoid defeat on Tuesday night and should have few problems against a Dortmund side that has been stuttering in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund were recently beaten 2-0 by league leaders Union Berlin and currently find themselves four points off the pace, having lost four of their opening 11 Bundesliga games. They have performed well in Europe and are certainly the second-best team in the group, but a disappointing home draw against struggling Sevilla leaves them with some work to do to make the knockout stages.
Dortmund can go top of the group if they beat City by two goals or more, but a City win is a far more likely outcome.
Erling Haaland to Score Anytime
It would be more unusual at this stage to back against Haaland scoring a goal in any given game. The Norwegian forward has made 15 competitive appearances for City and you can still count on one hand the games he has failed to score in – Liverpool (in the league and Community Shield season opener) and Bournemouth.
He has scored a staggering 22 goals in 15 games since joining City in the summer, including a brilliant winner against Dortmund at the Etihad. Returning to his former home for the first time, Haaland is unlikely to show any sentimentality and will more than likely add to his ever-increasing goal tally.
Jude Bellingham to Score Anytime
Jude Bellingham is an excellent price to find the back of the net considering he has scored in every Champions League game this season. Bellingham has scored four goals in four Champions League group games, including the opening goal in Dortmund’s narrow loss to City in Manchester. He is Dortmund’s top scorer in all competitions with eight goals to his name so far this season, including two in the 5-0 win over Stuttgart at the weekend.
Bellingham also scored against City in the 2021 Champions League quarter-final, putting Dortmund 1-0 up in the home leg. He was also incredibly unfortunate not to score in the away leg after his goal was ruled out for a controversial foul on Ederson. He clearly enjoys playing against City and can cause problems again on Tuesday night.
Celtic v Shakhtar Donetsk

Celtic boast a small chance of salvaging their European campaign and stealing a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League, but it is a very slim chance indeed. Ange Postecoglou’s side have been well beaten in three of their four Champions League games this season, only escaping with a point against Tuesday’s opposition in Poland in September.
However, they are unlikely to arrest that poor European form, despite enjoying home advantage on Tuesday night. Celtic have not won a Champions League home game since 2013 and became the first team in the competition’s history to lose seven consecutive home games following their 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig.
Despite Celtic Park’s fierce reputation, the hosts seem to really struggle at home in the competition and will continue to do so against a Shakhtar side that dismantled RB Leipzig in the opening group game and, more recently, were denied a famous win over Real Madrid thanks to a last-gasp equaliser. It is hard to see Celtic taking three points on Tuesday night.
