7.30pm: Liverpool vs West Ham – BTTS

TV: Amazon Prime Video

Liverpool gave their best performance of the season in the 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, but it will be a very different type of game when West Ham come to town on Wednesday night. Liverpool surrendered possession and territory against City in what was ultimately a backs-against-the-wall performance. They will be expected to take the game to West Ham on Wednesday.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

West Ham will be the team sitting back on this occasion and should cause Liverpool plenty of problems, just as Newcastle, Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Fulham have already done. Liverpool were excellent defensively against City, but it was still just their third league clean sheet of the season.

West Ham, meanwhile, have started to find the back of the net after a slow start to the season. The Hammers have scored six goals in their last three league games and should carry a threat at Anfield.

It would be highly unusual if Liverpool failed to score at the other end, considering it has been more than 18 months since they failed to score a league goal at Anfield. As such, it’s Both Teams To Score here.

Virgil Van Dijk to attempt 90 or more passes

Liverpool recorded just 36% possession in their win over City and it would be highly surprising if that figure was not flipped on its head on Wednesday night. Jurgen Klopp’s side will almost certainly enjoy the lion’s share of possession against a West Ham side that treats the ball as its enemy in games against the big six.

West Ham have played three games against said clubs this season, recording less than 40% possession on each occasion. It is highly unlikely to be any different against Liverpool.

Virgil Van Dijk, who has attempted an average of 80 passes per game in the Premier League this season, is likely to enjoy a lot of possession on Wednesday night. He should considerably better his 80-pass average against West Ham so we’ll have Van Dijk to Attempt 90 Or More Passes.

Over 11.5 Corners

Liverpool may not have made the best start to the season in terms of points, but they have started well where it matters most – corners. Only Newcastle and Manchester City have won more corners this season than Liverpool, with most of their corners coming in five games at Anfield.

Safer Gambling 2022

Liverpool have won 39 corners in five home outings this season at a rate of almost eight per game. They won 13 in the 2-1 win over Newcastle when they first pushed for an equaliser and then for a late winner.

Wednesday’s game could easily follow a similar pattern. West Ham, on the other hand, average just over five corners per game and can be expected to win a few of their own when they attack on the counter so Over 11.5 Corners is appealing.

8.15pm: Man United v Tottenham – Man United to win

TV: Amazon Prime Video

Tottenham currently sit seven points above Manchester United, but they have undeniably had an easier start to the season. Spurs have made their best-ever start to a league campaign but have played seven of their ten games against teams in the bottom half, while they lost convincingly against Arsenal in one of their only tests so far.

United, on the other hand, have lost three of their opening nine games, but have played six of the current top ten. The hosts are still far from the finished article, but their performances against both Liverpool and Arsenal at home suggest that they will cause a lot of problems for their fellow top four rivals on their own patch with a United Win.

Antony to Score Anytime

Antony’s excellent goal-scoring record since arriving at Old Trafford came to an end in the goalless stalemate with Newcastle, but he showed plenty of promising signs in that draw on Sunday. The Brazilian’s end product was poor at times, but he often looked the most likely player to break Newcastle’s resistance.

He was responsible for both of United’s shots on target and consistently tormented Dan Burn. Some have labelled Antony a one-trick pony due to his inclination to cut inside on his left foot, but it has borne fruit so far, bringing him three goals in his opening three league appearances. He is good value to make it four goals in five games on Wednesday so we’ll wrap up with Antony to Score Anytime.
